FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I really don't! I have packages for weddings, and they are based on hours of coverage. All of my portrait packages are the same. My prints are a-la-carte, and cost the same if they are of a bride or a newborn or a corporate executive.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always reading photography magazines, blogs, websites, and so on. I am also looking into joining my local photographer's association, where I'll be able to get back into competition. There's no better way to improve your craft that to have it evaluated by your peers.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I graduated high school, I wanted to be a medical doctor. I spent a couple semesters at a local university to do just that, but it never felt right. I always knew I had "the eye" for photos, and decided to take the leap, drop out of the pre-medicine program, and enroll in an art school, focusing on photography. I knew instantly that this is what I wanted to do my whole life!
