Bill and Karen stayed to the very end helping with the wedding. Our caterer was a no-show and we had to order pizza, drinks, cups, and utensils at the last minute (like right as the reception was starting) and they were so helpful. They helped serve the food and they cut the cake and poured the champagne for the toast, then helped us clean up at the end. They really went above and beyond. Bill and Karen were exactly what we needed. We hired them to coordinate the day of our wedding and they did a great job despite of improvising after our schedule went belly up. They were very motivating the week leading up asking us questions we did not think about before, and then helped us keep our cool when things did not go according to plan. They even helped cleanup until midnight when our cleaning lady did not show up and they had another event the next morning! I hired Sunshine as my day of coordinators for our wedding held on April 25th 2019. Our interaction was somewhat limited as I did not require their full suite of planning services, but I was satisfied with their responsiveness, value, and overall performance. If I had one note for anyone looking to hire Sunshine it is that they are almost too organized ( for me personally ). I was emailed a intense list of questionnaires to fill out. I filled them out to the best of my ability but they were a bit more detail oriented than I was - this is a great trait for an event planner - I was just a little bit more laid back and was unprepared to have huge lists of specifics requested so this is not a criticism it's a "just so you know". If you are made anxious by these types of specifics and questionnaires, and followups, and things needing to be in stone ( like I am ) maybe let them know in advance to reel it in just a bit. Bill & Karen took care of helping to plan and coordinate my wedding. I hired them as a day-of coordinator, but they far exceeded my expectations in communication and their overall involvement prior to the wedding and the day of. I can honestly say that our wedding day went totally smooth - we actually ended up being ahead of schedule throughout the day, which is almost unheard of. I attribute this to how detailed and thorough Bill & Karen were. At first I was a little overwhelmed by how much detail we had to cover (they brought up so many things I hadn't even thought of), but in the long run it really paid off. Their knowledge and past experience is truly invaluable in terms of the guidance they offer, but they are not pushy at all and want you to have things exactly as you want them. I also have to mention, in terms of value for the service that is offered - this is the best. We are glad we hired Bill and Karen as our day-of-coordinators. I have to admit there were a number of communication issues with Bill leading up to the wedding day, but I could tell he was trying very hard to do a good job. I think most of the communication issues stemmed from the online questionnaire system that they use to coordinate everything; it could use some work. Regardless, things went well the day of the wedding. A couple of issues arose and Karen did a great job addressing them for us. One thing I found disappointing was that Karen explained to me that her assistant had failed to show and that therefore Sunshine Weddings had not set up my centerpieces/decor as planned; rather, the caterer took care of that for us. Karen insinuated that I should therefore pay an additional gratuity to the caterer, when I had already paid 18%. I should have told Karen that she needed to give the tip I had left for her assistant to whoever from the catering company had set up the centerpieces/decor, but frankly I had more important things on my mind (my wedding was about to start!) and I failed to speak up to her. Overall, Sunshine Weddings was a good value for the price. I would recommend them to anyone on a budget who needs assistance the day of their event.Jun 11, 2017Sunshine Weddings, LLC's reply
Thank you for the kind review. yes, we switched our questionnaires to a website based system, and there were a few bugs to wok out. But, like you said, we worked on it until it was right. We apologize if our suggestion to tip the caterer a little more was not received well, but, we thought that you should know that they did an outstanding job! Many planners/coordinators would not have said anything and just taken credit themselves! And, yes, we excel at what we do and we accept almost any couple wanting assistance, even when they have a limited budget! Thanks again and best wishes on your marriage!

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We want to hear what you want on your special day so we can do our part to make it come true! Once hired, we will begin by meeting with you or speaking with you on the phone to see where you at with your special day. We will take notes and make suggestions and allow you the time to tell us what you want your special day to look like! Then, we will make a series of plans to ensure we deliver exactly what you want!
