Melissa did a very good job of cleaning; however, she neglected to see the apartment before quoting the price and then wanted more money. She left before completing the job. Be wary of blind bids.Jun 17, 2016VerifiedMelissa G.'s reply
I gave a blind bid, something I don't normally do. Client made it sound as if it wasn't much and that the apartment was small. I quoted what I normally charge for that size of a home. Upon arrival I did the initial walk through with his roommate, I told his roommate that the cost would be significantly ($130 instead of $85) higher than the quoted amount. He called David and David said that's all I have to spend. I agreed to give him 3 hours. Each tiny bathroom took me an hour....I called the client and sent him pictures of before and after for the bathrooms and explained he would have an hour left of time and to tell me what he needed and wanted done, (what's more important to have done the final hour) he said the floors and baseboards I proceeded to clean baseboards and floors for another hour and a half. I called the client after my 3.5 hours of time and told him that the only thing I could not get done was his kitchen. He claimed that was fine and he'd finish that when he got home. He thanked me for my time and the updated photos along the way....but that he understood. I apologized but that I'd be happy to return to finish up for the additional $45 price. Since this happened I have never done a blind estimate again!
Melissa and her staff did a great job cleaning and organizing my home. My husband and toddler are left alone all week while I work out of town, you can only imagine the state of the house on a constant basis. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing some help in their lives...Nov 11, 2015Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I do not have standard pricing, as I tailor it to each individual client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I listen to my clients needs and wants. I will always ask if there is something in particular that you need to have done!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I retired about 5 years ago, I was a paralegal for 20+ years and I traveled and did many things that I wanted to do. I had become bored. A friend of mine asked me to come help set up for a party and I cleaned their home. They then referred me out and it went from there. I mainly work off of referrals.
