I have to admit I was nervous at first hiring movers, because of a bad experience in the past... But I was pleasently surprised! Dave was very helpful and nice every time I spoke to him. He always answered me in a timely manner and accomdated all my requests. His team that did the move were also very nice, quick and expert movers. You can tell they have been doing this a long time and made it a smooth process. I am very thankful to have hired ADMS and highly recommend them to anyone moving!

Excellent work, courteous and very professional. I've used movers probably 10 times in my life and these guys were the best. No hidden charges, no bull, and treated my things probably better than I would. I would and will use these guys for my next move. They were great.

My experience with Drop A Truck was awesome. Renardo, the owner, is very attentive. This was my first time using movers, and I am so grateful for finding this company. On the day of my move, the three movers sent out to help were amazing and careful and my mind was put at ease immediately. They not only took care of my personal items with much attention, they were also quick and quite friendly and funny. Also, Renardo stopped by to meet me in person. This was very much appreciated. I am definitely going to suggest them to everybody.

I was torn among four moving companies when I was moving last week. All four of them quoted similarly and promised perfection but I sensed something special about SB when I spoke to their sales representative and decided to try them out. It really was a good choice. They made my move so easy. It was a long distance move but it wasn’t the distance that bothered me; I am really attached to the things I own, so I didn’t want them to be damaged. I am thankful for these guys. Superb job!

We have used DeVries Moving twice to move us from Tequesta to Hobe sound and return to Tequesta. Each time the moves have gone extremely well. The movers were on time to pick up our belongings , wrapped each piece of furniture carefully and delivered them to the final destination without a hitch. The employees were experienced and careful with fragile items and nothing was damaged. All in all, we were very pleased and will definitely use this company to move us in the future.

Coordinated the packing up and 900+ mile move of items in a storage locker with Sam, the owner of Icon Moving. Sam was prompt to respond to my initial Thumbtack enquiry, and quite professional throughout the entire process. The driver of the truck kept in touch with us so we would have a good idea of the arrival window. Our items arrived up here in Virginia today in perfect condition! I highly recommend Icon Moving whether you are doing a local or long distance move.

The movers did what they knew best. The relocation experience was so captivating for me. I had I expected to wait much longer before receiving my properties in Seattle. It wasn’t so because Long Distance Moving Solutions relocation crew was faster and more efficient. They were also very careful when it comes to handling my properties. In the end, I was so full of praises that the relocation had gone the right way.

I would definitely use them on my next move since I get relocated often for work. Thanks gary for your assistance.

These are not hearsays, but I am here because I have an experience of using the incredible services of Interstate Relocation Systems. You will want to use them too. What I experienced is worth the try.

I have moved all over the country and have used different movers each time. I have had some decent companies. My last move was performed by Household Van Lines which I found to be by far the best. Their priorities for performing the move were the same as the criteria I was looking for in a professional moving company, namely excellent customer service and professional movers that left me at ease in entrusting by belongings with them, especially because I needed additional storage and packing of a few glass pieces. Thanks guys.

I have recently moved to Georgia from Florida. Remax van lines moved us there safely and without any unwanted issues. They were clearly ahead than any other movers as far is the price was concerned. Their sales rep offered us the best price and their movers simply executed a perfect move. They showed up on time and wrapped and moved all my belongings without any damage. There was nothing which was broken or lost. I was stunned to see my belongings. Even I never expected such perfection! It was a delight using Remax van lines. I also thank them for completing the job before the allotted time.

Joe moved my niece from Port St. Lucie to Delray Beach (a distance of about 67 miles) in 4 hours. The move was from a 3rd floor apartment to another 3rd floor - neither building had an elevator. He and his partner carried everything, without complaint, down the snug stairwell at the first place and back up at the next building. By the way, the temperature was about 89 and the humidity about 90%, so it was very hot and sticky. I would definitely us JM Movers again.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
