FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is hourly when we are in a mediation session. I do not charge for phone calls, texts, emails. I only charge for actual mediation time with clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Mediation is a process. 30 minute free phone consultation Have clients sign an agreement to mediate Have clients submit an intake for describing the conflict / dispute Meet privately with the parties individually prior to the mediation Schedule a mediation joint mediation session or other arrangement Provide each party to present their opening statement for 15 minutes Mediator asks questions of both parties Supervised negotiations with the parties If an agreement is reached I will write a memorandum of understanding Both parties will sign
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified by the National Association of Certified Mediators and member of the Association of Conflict Resolution. I hold a business degree and I am a licensed tax practitioner specializing in business taxation. I am also a member of the American Association of Mediators. To hold certification I must go through 60 hours of continuing education every two years. In between I am attending as many education events that cover negotiations, business, family mediation, international mediation, real estate, and many more. I truly believe that if I continue to learn as much as I can about mediation the better the client will understand the process. I have written two books, one on ethics and one on mediation.
