Having learned English as a second language, I experienced the struggles that foreign language learners often go through which has allowed me to develop lessons that account for these learning roadblocks. Additionally, the need to learn English as a key for communication and success forced me to learn all the gritty components of the language with extra attention to detail, powering my editing skills.
This learning process fueled a passion for languages which led me to eventually acquire German and French, now with more than ten years of full professional proficiency in each, in addition to dabling in a few others with varying levels of proficiency: Portuguese, Arabic and Russian.
Unsatisfied with just "knowing" a language, I pursued a master's degree in Linguistics to understand the science behind human language: its natural developmental stages regardless of geographic origin, the differences and similarities between each, the intricate relationship with culture and the daily nuances that are lost in translation--even in the same language.
For me, language is more than a deadline deliverable--it is the most important tool we have for knowledge transfer, business negotiations, emotion expression... It is what sets us apart as a species and with my ability to harness its power on your behalf, it's what will set you apart from the competition!
