Jared did a great job installer two chandeliers and adding light kits to five ceiling fans. I was pleased with the quality of his work. He was clean and personable, too. A hard worker. He recently relocated to our area from Pennsylvania. He had good reviews from folks up there. I would not hesitate to hire Jared again. His hourly rate was very competitive, and he doesn't waste time while on the job.

I hired Joe & team from KJ Marble & Tile in November 2017 to remodel a bathroom in our Boca Raton home. My decision to hire them was based on their many positive reviews. It was the absolute best choice because Joeโ€™s team exceeded my expectations. The job consisted of demolition, installation of new floating cabinet vanity, dual sinks, quartz countertops, high end designer floor, shower surround and wall tile, shower niche & splashguard, structural ceiling change, plumbing fixtures, drywall repair, skim coat, painting, electrical outlets and recessed lighting. Joe managed the oversight of the project and kept me informed of progress daily, which I appreciated the most since I work in Fort Lauderdale and relied on his leadership and trusted his judgement from afar. Everything went smoothly and on schedule according to plan with exception of two minor touch ups required on the vanity handles and wall paint which were resolved immediately. Communication and trust are key in hiring a contractor to perform work in your home, and by my experience with KJ Marble & Tile I recommend them to anyone considering remodeling work and plan to hire them for my next project.

Bathroom Remodeled Made Easy. We were looking to upgrade our master bathroom. It was a kind of standard bath with the tub and shower in the same place. I wanted a bigger tub, and my wife wanted to have the shower separated from the tub. In the limited space we had, She rather have the shower even if there was no tub. After the demolition of the existing features, and when I was about to give up in the tub, Juan Carlos took the time to help us decide on the layout. He used plywood to represent the location of the walls and the tub. He also suggested us to use a sliding pocked door, which open up the space we needed to have both the tub and the shower. He did a fantastic job relocating the plumbing and putting everything together for the new shower with two jet body sprays and a handle. The level of detail he had while installing the marble tiles was impressive. He also did a very good carpentry job around the tub with trim and wainscoting. We are very happy with his work and all of the input we got from him while selecting materials and colors. I recommend him highly, and we will call him again when we are ready to remodel our kitchen.

Jose was great. He came and assed the bathtub tile repair job and then completed the next day. High quality in a short time. We also had him repair the tile on the bathroom floor as it was leaking. He went out of his way to go all over town to find the right tile as well. He and his co-worker were very respectful of our home and cleaned up nicely before he left. I would hire him again for tile work.

Met with Randy at my home . The job was to install an extensive amount of porcelain tile . After meeting with quite a few tile installers I have decided to enter into a contract with R&K tile. He did not take any payment in advance . He had his employees show up on the set date and the job began. after a few days John called and asked if I was happy with the progress. At this point he asked if he can get a some money .no words can explain how happy I was. . I Strongly recommend John From R&K for any bathroom or tile job. Thanks again John.

JP is an absolute professional - our rectified tile backsplash looks amazing and we couldn't be happier. After the initial phone consultation, JP explained exactly what he was going to do when he arrived on site (on time) and then went ahead and did it exactly that way. He is a General Contractor, so we will be hiring him again for our other projects. You won't be disappointed with his work.

Brandon and Steve were great to work with. I requested a quote for one project (closing in a wall), and they ended up giving me a great price for a second project (installing kitchen backsplash tile) while they were here. These guys are hard workers trying to grow their young business. They were very accommodating to my request for the jobs to be done in the evening after I got home from work or on weekend days. They showed up with everything they needed to get the job done, and they worked well together as a team. They were professional, communicative and respectful. Overall they did a great job on both projects. The one area I suggested they might need a little improvement is with the attention to detail. I have other projects coming up and will definitely be calling them to help me out.

If you are looking for a residential/commercial contractor to provide quality remodeling services in the South Florida area, then you should consider calling Mr. Luis Briceno of the Done-Rite Handyman Service Company in Boca Raton, Florida. Luis is an extremely hard working and efficient professional that you can count on to provide high-quality and reliable services at a fair and reasonable price. I recently had him renovate my home by replacing the entire floor throughout the home with porcelain tile and installing brand new kitchen cabinets that included a complete re-design of the kitchen layout. He also rebuilt the bathroom by removing the old bathtub and antiquated wall tiles and replacing them with a custom built shower with sliding glass doors and brand new tiling from floor to ceiling. Luis and his team work independently throughout the home performing all electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, stucco and painting work to eliminate the need for having to deal with more than one company to complete a project. He is extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating in all aspects of operations. I highly recommend contacting him if you are interested in remodeling your home or office.

I had a wonderful experience with this group. They were punctual, professional and diligent. They finished the job in three days; demo, tiling and finishing work. They showed up every day when they said they would and weโ€™re flexible with me when I ordered the wrong amount of tile. Reliability is so important in this industry and unfortunately so few professionals are reliable in their work and fair in their pricing. This group is both and very skilled in their craft as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone. In the photos see the new slate floors and subway tile shower, with ceramic shower floor (walls are getting finished at a later date) also my cat seems to approve of the new floor.

Jeremy and David did an excellent job on my projects. I had tile that was buckling in my dining area; he removed and relocated tile and made a great design. Removed old kitchen lights and installed recessed lights and also installed a ductless a/c unit. Highly recommend if you have projects big or small. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.ย ย

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

  • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
    • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot โ€” or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If youโ€™re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower โ€” to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. Itโ€™s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
