FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The pricing system at willyoumarry.us/rates-policies-contracts/ is generally up to date.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically (but not always) meet in person to go over what kind of ceremony we'd like to have, what kinds of words should be said, and the like. Generally, I'll ask for a 50% deposit during one of those meetings, and, if desired, we'll sign a contract. We'll also communicate more in the weeks leading up to the wedding, hammering out the final details via email or telephone. Finally, on the day of the ceremony, I try to be in place 30-60 minutes ahead of time, making sure the license is present, the rings are where they need to be, and everything is in order for a smooth, significant and joyful day. That's a typical process - sometimes, I'm contacted by couples interested in more of a whirlwind elopement, in which case we adapt as needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was ordained in the 1990s and performed my first wedding on New Year's Eve 1998. My religious education is eclectic, with an early foundation in Catholic theology; I'm most comfortable helping design and perform interfaith and non-denominational weddings.
