Gene has been teaching guitar lessons to my son for five years now. He is always on time, and often stays longer than our scheduled lesson time if my son needs additional help from him. He is extremely knowledgable about every aspect of the guitar and theory. He teaches every genre, improvisation, and songwriting. I would recommend Gene Hilbert to anyone who wants to learn to play the guitar!
I have a full-service recording studio and offer music teaching, specializing in guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, and Dobro.
George is a very well trained musician with a very broad skillset. His talents and patient teaching style are applicable to both beginner and seasoned students.
Great teacher! Knows a whole lot about music theory and can play other instruments because of it, but is most proficient at guitar. I've seen him shred on bass and play a song or two on piano. Great personality, always smiling. Definitely recommended for musicians starting out at all ages.
I'm a multi-instrumentalist and composer who also loves to teach music. As a performer, clients love my versatility and flexibility. As a composer, my music is noted for originality and soul. As a teacher, I've gained a reputation for being personable and motivating, yet technically solid. Areas taught include brass instruments (especially, but not exclusively, trumpet), beginning to intermediate guitar, and beginning piano and music theory and composition.
We offer guitar, voice, piano, keyboards, violin, bass, banjo, mandolin, autoharp, and drum lessons for all ages, beginners to professionals, and all musical styles. Our staff includes UGA master's level classical guitarists, Berklee College of Music pianist, and professional performers. We offer performance opportunities. We also do music theory and composition, songwriting and performance skills training, and recording (CD and DVD) in studio or on stage. We also do transcriptions.
I have three years' teaching experience and 10 years of classical training. I prefer to teach popular styles (acoustic and electric).
I am an avid musician, fluent in many instruments (from keys and strings to electronic production), the guitar being my equipment. I have played for almost 8 years now, being trained by some of the most respected teachers in the area. Having gigged and recorded in a diversity of bands, be it rock, jazz, blues, folk, metal, punk, etc., acoustic, or electric, I can show you the ropes. With plenty of experience educating friends, family, and anyone else who had approached me with interests in learning the instrument, I am prepared to educate any level of student. I also have plenty of gears, so if you're not looking to commit to buying any equipment just yet, I can accommodate . One of my favorite aspects of music is the theory behind it all (and writing pieces myself), if or when you've got the fundamentals down, lessons in music theory are more than possible. I have a partner with similar experience (we're both students at UGA), so scheduling should be no issue. I look forward to spreading my knowledge and passion of the instrument to anyone interested.
I give lessons for beginners and intermediate students, scales, modes, chords and chord progressions, basic theory.
I have been singing and playing guitar since I was 12 years old. I have shared stages and rubbed elbows with some very talented folks. I love the guitar but as with any undertaking, I can show you and demonstrate but it will be up to you as to how good you become. Instruction is only a quarter of what you need the rest 25% depends on your ability to absorb the lesson and practice is the other 50% of the equation so you do absorb it whether or not you understood it in my presence. We start with basics like octaves and chords, and there is no need to read music to play guitar. I can read music but to learn to play the guitar, we use tablature, and I will teach you how to read it and understand it if you don't know already. This would be guitar 101 basics which will give you all the tools you need to advance, but I'll leave guitar theory to the music professors!
