Dennis is a true professional and takes time to help peoples problems and point them in the right direction. Dennis knows his field and don't mind networking with the right people in his industry. Dennis referred me to someone that he knew that could help me when he was tied up on other cases. He is a fair attorney and is a peoples person. Dennis really cares. This is rare in his industry. Hire him before he raises his prices!

Mr Reidy took the time and explained in detail yet understandable terms about my current situation. I don't know many attorneys that would call you after hours and explore options after a long day. I recommend Mr. Reidy and encourage anyone to use his services. Thank you Mr. Reidy

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

In filing a chapter 7, there are four fees involved: the court's filing fee, the attorney's fee, a credit counseling fee, and a credit report fee. As of June 2019, the total cost for a chapter 7 is approximately $1150 overall (all fees), but payment plans are available in order to make the overall process as easy as possible. A case can be started with $133 ($166 for joint cases). Chapter 13 is reorganization and entails making monthly payments to a trustee, who then makes payment on a client's behalf. Attorney's fees are paid by the trustee as payments are made. Each chapter 13 is unique and depends on the circumstances of the case, so the monthly trustee payment is different for each person. Some things that get paid via chapter 13 are mortgage arrears, car notes, tax debt, and similar things. In a chapter 13, it is possible to discharge debt just as in a chapter 7 while at the same time protecting assets.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I consult with the customer and take as much time as the customer needs so that he/she has a thorough understanding of the process. We then fill out the paperwork (easy process done via 3 emails). Once the paperwork is ready, I sit down the client and go over it, we sign the paperwork, and the case gets filed thereafter. Some things that are needed in order to file a case: 1. The trustee requires the last 60 days of paystubs and may require other information regarding income. 2. The last filed tax returns. 3. Online credit counseling course needs to be completed. The provider issues a certificate upon completion. 4. In either chapter 7 or 13, a case may be started with $133 ($166 for joint cases). There is at least one hearing involved, where the client is examined under oath by a trustee for about 5 minutes. Photo ID and proof of Social Security number are required for the hearing. Hearings take place at the Federal courthouse located in one of the following venues: downtown Atlanta, Rome, Gainesville, or Newnan. The county of residence determines which courthouse the hearing takes place in.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My education consists of a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Kennesaw State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and a law degree from Georgia State University. Every year, continuing education courses must be completed in order to comply with the requirements of the State Bar of Georgia. I have worked in the state court system in Ohio and the Federal system in Georgia.
