Several years of experience using skills learned from the Construction/Building maintenance program at Goodwill
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was introduced to the handyman industry at a young age helping my dad grabbing various tools or holding the light curiously watching him as he worked usually around the house. As I got older I started venturing out on my own doing small jobs for people I knew & they referred me to others. I spent 3 months years ago with GoodWill career center in a program which helped me gain a few certifications Universal HVAC certification Georgia Silver Work Ready Certification, OSHA 10 certification & a CPO which has expired time to update this one. These certifications opened doors into the world of multi family residential maintenance. I’ve done as little as changing a light bulb or picking up trash to swapping out air handlers & water heaters. My passion is ensuring the job is done right the first time.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Personalizing an area in a client’s home by adding shelving. Once all the materials were gathered measurements made & studs located the project took an 1.5hrs. My client and I were very pleased with the results.
