Introduction: We are a diverse boutique flooring company. Our professional contractors each are certified and have individual liability insurance because safety is our number one concern. They offered me the best price to remove my carpet in my whole house and put down laminate. I thought I wanted hardwood but what I explained what I wanted to the contractor was apparently laminate which looks like wood. I am so glad I went with this company because they saved me thousands of dollars because other companies I spoke with didn’t offer this alternative and wanted to charge me more for hardwood. I definitely got a bang for my buck and I am so so so happy I got laminate with all the animals I have. 10/10 recommend this company!

Tile Installation and Replacement

if you agree to do work, then do it. if you don't have the skill set to, then don't agree upon a price and say you will do said work.
American Eagle Construction's reply
Hello William, Thank you for your review. Here at AEC, we provide a price for our contractors and subcontract another professional to do said job if that contractor is unavailable or unable to do said job. With that being said, you are always welcome to decline a price if it is not within your budget, and we always give you an estimate and invoice beforehand. Full payment is always required at the completion of every job. We have excellent photos to provide of the completed job that you expressed satisfaction towards in person to one of our contractors. Please message us in private if you would like to further address this situation. Best, MGMT

Floor Installation or Replacement

They are definitely con artist. A guy called via phone and agreed to one quote but on the day of the scheduled appointment, he arrived over 1 hour late and also brought another guy that I have not met nor spoken to, who demanded more money unexpectedly. Just be aware that they will call you instead of giving you a quote directly and try to up the price on the day of after the work has been completed. I have never experienced such an unprofessional company before and I came here based off of a referral for the app being that the cost are usually more affordable and convenient. I would have rather paid another company more who were upfront to begin with and didn’t try to scam me. They were yelling and making a scene at my place of business once the other guy demanded that I pay him on top of the guy that originally quoted me. RUN AWAY, there are other companies out there that do much better work and more importantly, they are respectful and professional.

Hello Lucas, Thank you for your review, but we believe in honesty and fairness. Here at AEC, we subcontract independent contractors who are fully certfied and provide full liability insurance and worker’s compensation. Their employees they bring to work on the job are also fully licensed and bonded. We actually spoke with the independent contractor we subcontracted, and because English is not his first language and has an accent, maybe this created a language barrier. However, you let him complete the entire job which he agreed upon the phone with you for $2.50/hr (still discounted from $3/hr for labor) and refused to pay him that since you swore he said $250. For the entire job. We have photos of the excellent and completed professional work they did for your office space floor. We also appreciate that you closed the office unit completely to allow them the space to work freely and efficiently so that there were no other passerbys. Let us clarify that our prices are always laid out. $3/sq ft for labor without materials and $6/sq ft with labor + materials. Any client is welcome to double check the math by multiplying the amount of sq ft times our base price. None of our contractors ever charge more, but for the completed job, the entire price needs to be remitted. IF* any additional job is requested at the site, the contractor will always clarify with the client that this will cost x-amount otherwise they will simply not work for free. It is very common practice in the construction industry, especially for smaller businesses. We are a boutique construction company, and we always 100% send out our invoices and contracts via email. Generally, if the client provides the materials then we usually do not send a paper proposal of the estimate amount unless requested since it is simply the sq ft times our base price of $3, which the contractor will always communicate. 98% of our past clients have received proposals via email before agreeing upon the job. However, Mr. Lucas, since you asked for them to come in within a day since you had the materials and was eager to start (an oral contract is still binding) and you did not ask for a paper proposal but consented orally over the phone, they tendered performance per trusting your word. We always try to work with our clients if they want to save money and get started on the job right away. We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication because it is our usual standard to send out the proposal/estimate and invoice via email and the client is required to remit a deposit, but it is not uncommon practice for smaller businesses to be more casual in negotiations. Thank you for your time and feel free to respond to us via thumbtack or email if you would like to further communicate about this incident. — AEC

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Customers should know that we are very reasonable when it comes to pricing and will work as much with the customers as we can. The prices are firm and due that the end of every service. For larger or longer projects, we will specify in the contract that a deposit is required before work will commence.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Our typical process is asking what kind of project they are looking for and how many square feet their project contains.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our contractors have a minimum of 5 years experience.

Not what you’re looking for?

No problem: we have pros for every job.
