Long Distance Moving

My request was urgent in nature and had to be executed outside of normal circumstances. This team at moving solutions handled my situation with care and compassion. They communicated well, especially during the delivery process. It was a team effort. I would definitely recommend this company for any local or long distance moves.

Long Distance Moving

I called just to request a quote. I might have misunderstood something, but the customer service representative was rather pushy about getting me to sign the binding moving estimate, which I was not ready to do. Because of this I won’t be using Moving Solutions ATL in the future.

You did misunderstand, I listened to the call. He asked if you wanted to get set up? You said yes. He went through paperwork, showed you where to sign. You said you weren’t ready. He asked what happened in the 5 minutes? You said you were not ready. He politely said ok and ended the call. If that’s pushy to you, I apologize but we’re a no pressure sale and our representatives are paid salary not commission.

Long Distance Moving

The second half of my move was absolutely TERRIBLE! When I called in to request my delivery things were going smooth. They set up a date and my furniture was on its way 10 days later. Once it was on it’s way I was told by Ryan through email that the part of nj that I moved to doesn’t allow the truck that they were bringing my items on. Which is something that should be told in the beginning, now I would need a shuttle service. I looked over my estimate that i signed and it stated that the shuttle would be charged based on weight. I seen the price was a extra $550 for the weight of my furniture. It wasn’t the best news but it was stated there so I knew it was something that I just had to do. When it was time to get the shuttle I was told that the price was double that amount. After speaking to Britney in customer service and Ryan the supervisor I was told that the price is calculated by cubic foot. No where on any of my papers stated that. As I brought that to Ryans attention he started getting really defensive and proceeded to tell me that I frustrated him. I’m the one that has to come out my pocket and he’s frustrated with me for trying to get some clarification. He then told me the price was the price and hung up on me. Now how unprofessional was that!!! He then called me back and told me that the information that customers are charged by cubic foot and not by weight(which is stated on the estimate) is in some book that’s 300 pages and in their possession. I proceeded to tell him that needs to be changed and he stated that he will change it going forward. Now lets fast forward to receiving my things. My bedroom sets arrived without the screws & missing platform. Therefore my beds are currently on the floor. My son’s bunkbed stairs were missing along with the screws. Now I have to get my son a new bed. My mirrored dresser is completely broken, my desk was broken(had to throw it out). Lets talk about the insurance. I advise that you take a very very good look at the contract before signing it. I thought I looked over it properly and realized that they pointed for me to sign on a line that wasn’t for a signature under the full coverage yet they pointed for me to sign the signature box under “waving full coverage”. I’ll take that blame because that was up to me to make sure of that, but I’d like to warn anyone else that hires this company. So overall this company cost me so much money. I would not recommend them.

Thumbtack should remove this company immediately. They pose as the actual moving company and they are not. They outsource movers on your behalf. One you pay the initial deposit they give you a toll free number to “dispatch” where YOU are now responsible for handling any moving issues and believe me there are plenty! Customer service was rude and apparently reads a script and cuts you off when you begin asking questions! I received a call from “dispatch “ with a pick up date and time. After the movers they chose to move me were over an hour late...I called to find out they had a “busy morning” and couldn’t come until the next day. And it gets worse!!! Once they loaded my things they then explained my charges were $1400 over what I was originally quoted! But what can you do? You’re screwed! Also stayed in a hotel for a week waiting for my things to arrive and when they did...I was missing furniture, ALL of my glass was broken and I was missing boxes. In process of filing a claim now just when I thought this nightmare was over. I get the concept of this company, but be honest with your customers. A move is stressful enough! Don’t use this company. You will literally go insane for a while!

First let me apologize for any damages that took place. I have the claims department reaching out to get you started on that process for reimbursement. I will attach the mandatory post closing script which was read and sent to you via email which addresses FAD vs delivery date. Mandatory Closing Post-Payment Verification I am going to go over the contract with you and you need to verbally agree to the terms. This is a binding price based on the inventory you provided, and services requested in the estimate. The only way this price will change is if you add any additional services or inventory items to your move. Based on your list we have you estimated at 560 cf: cubic feet. If at any time you require an additional space reservation or should your list of items take up more space, your binding rate shall remain the same as stated in your contract. Per your contract, your binding rate per cubic foot is $3.50: Additional services would be long carry over 100 ft from the truck to your door, flights of stairs over 12 steps on the exterior of your home, elevator services or packing. YOU are responsible to have all your boxes and fragile items packed, (I.E. glass tabletops, curio cabinets, TV’s Etc.) Unless specifically noted on your electronically signed order. We do offer ala Cart packing if you need, for an additional cost. Mattresses must be wrapped, and covers can be provided. Your pick-up date is a 2-day window, we will confirm which day the pick-up will be 24-48hrs prior to the first scheduled date, along with a 3-hour estimated time of arrival. Your move date is flexible however, it is based on our availability. Please let us know of any date changes with as much advanced notice as possible to make sure we can accommodate you. Your delivery time frame is a window based on your first available delivery date and your destination, which is your “F.A.D.”. Your F.A.D. is NOT your delivery date, it is the first date of your delivery window. If your household goods are being stored in our facility. Your FAD window will be applicable once you notify and confirm with the company that you are available to receive delivery. At that point we will schedule your items to be picked up from storage and once loaded your delivery window will begin. Expedited Delivery – If at any time should you be interested in receiving an expedited delivery, we offer this option at a flat rate per cubic foot. Should you select this option, your delivery window will be decreased by 50%. For example, if your delivery window was 7-14 days your expedited delivery window would now be 3 ½-7 days. This option can be added at any time prior to pick-up or delivery if storage services are included. REMINDERS – Due to the delivery time frames, we suggest that you do not ship any important documentation such as: passports, birth certificates, social security cards and any other personal identification. We also recommend that you do not pack any medications or medical equipment that will be needed during the time of transit. We also encourage that you do not transport any business or professional necessities. This includes but is not limited to, small electronic equipment, such as ipads, laptops, and computers that you would need immediate access to throughout the duration of pickup and delivery. $769.00 - Credit card is only accepted for deposits in most instances, personal checks can be used on pick up when deliveries are scheduled to be longer than 3 business days, otherwise pick up and delivery must be a certified form of payment for direct deliveries. Deposits are nonrefundable for moves canceled on pickup day. If there are any changes to the inventory or additional services needed after the reservation is made please inform Quality Assurance when they call you 3-7 days prior to your scheduled move date. You can also call or email to make any updates. I take exception to you saying you were left to deal with anything on your own, I looked through email threads and that is very far from accurate. Also, in the original paperwork we saw we could not do this pickup and booked you under the broker service and had you sign acknowledging you understood this. We are a carrier, we broker when we can not accommodate dates and have it clearly stated based on which paperwork is used.
