FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $100.00 an hour. However I occasionally work on a sliding scale basis and offer discounts for folks who may have financial hardship.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will often send out a questionnaire in advance by email to minimize time needed to fill out paperwork. I allow the couple to speak individually and invite each of the partners to describe what they hope will happen as a result of out sessions together. I review my ethical responsibilities to the clients and we discuss matters of ethics and confidentiality. Usually we review a questionnaire the couple has completed beforehand. If both members and I are comfortable with the information shared, I suggest a path for counseling or therapy, I review business policies and procedures, we discuss my compensation, we arrange a schedule and I suggest the therapeutic approach I feel is suited to the client. The couple t is encouraged to ask more questions. By the time the couple leaves, both should have a general idea of what to expect as we move forward.
