Sifu Myers has a wealth of knowledge. He is very understanding and understands the profession and schedule of his clients. I have recently started training with him and I have only had a positive experience. Strengthening the basics helps with stability during self-defense. Sifu Myers has taught me for years. He has a deep understanding of martial arts, drawing from years of experience, training, and knowledge of a plethora of difference martial arts. He also has a knowledge of the softer side of martial arts, such as learning to get to know your own body and mind. What I learned during my training with him has not only helped me grow as a martial artist, but also as a person. You will find that you will learn a lot more from a sifu who has such a wholistic understanding like Sifu Myers than you would a sifu who simply teaches you techniques and forms. "Max Myers is a fantastic coach. I started training in kung fu with him in 2013. In the past decade, I have trained with many teachers, and Max is definitely one of the best. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?The prices will fluctuate depending on how many sessions are bought. Discounts may be available. Ask for details.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Generally we will start with a 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your training needs. We will set up the first session (generally a week ahead of time depending on availability). The first part of the first session we will fill out the necessary forms (medical waiver, terms of training, health questionnaire), accept payment (I take credit/debit, cash or local checks), complete a physical assessment and then discuss what you would like to do moving forward. The last part we will spend actually getting a work out in, although generally not strenuous the first time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been involved in martial arts for over 25 years. My specialization is in Kung Fu. In addition, I am a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and a certified MMA Conditioning Coach through the MMACA (Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Association). I have also completed over 1000 hours in dietary/herbal study through Kerala Ayurveda Academy and International Integrative Educational Institute. Have produced courses on Ayurvedic Healing, and Psychological Well-Being/Performance.
