FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was educated in Engineering and Computer Science because I wanted to be sure to make "enough money." However, after about eight years in Engineering, I realized that I needed to be working in my passion, which was writing, and so I took a bold step and changed careers. I have not "struck it rich," but I'm much happier. A good writer can also edit and proofread, and so I have developed expertise in those areas as well.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Read some things they've written, and preferably published. Their published work will reflect their writing style, their professionalism and whether they can actually write and/or edit and/or proofread.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
That many times it's very hard to estimate the time it takes to complete a job, simply because each is quite unique. Editing is so much more than just reading; original writing takes skill and creativity; and professional proofreading takes eagle-eye detail, all of which takes more time than one would think.
