Alan installed bead board and new molding in our powder room. It turned out beautifully and at a great price. Alan was very responsive and knowledgeable about his craft.

Alan is the definition of a true craftsman & his work is impeccable. We am truly blown away by how skilled, detailed and how much pride he takes in what he does. He did an absolutely PHENOMENAL job installing wooden pantry shelves, a faux cabinet design to our island & the most creative accent wall going up our stairs. He took our ideas/photos and was able to bring them to life while offering his expertise to make it even better than we imagined. He consulted with us every step of the way and went over and beyond what we expected. If you want the work done right (and to be blown away), by someone who has a true passion and craft; I cannot recommend Alan enough! I already have another project I want him to do in our home! Also, a shout out to his assistant Grant, who was beyond professional, hard working and he always cleaned up before they left each day. Great gentleman and a pleasure to work with!

We called Alan to come install an accent wall, wainscoting, and decorative trim moldings in our office, and he did not fail to impress. I can’t find a single board out of line on my wall, every joint is perfectly flat and fits together tightly. I doubt any of the other carpenters we spoke with would’ve even been close to Alan’s quality for the price. He’s a rare individual these days… a young man that is passionate and proficient in his trade.

It pains me to write this review because I like Alan and wanted to see him succeed, however, I can not recommend him. He did not finish my job and did not communicate very well. He did the “fun” parts of the project and left me stuck with countless loose ends which will cost much more to fix than it would had I been able to give the job to just one contractor. Alan said he was having trouble with his truck and I tried to offer help. I was willing to advance money for repairs, have materials delivered, give him more work, and would have even called an Uber for him but he just left us hanging and offered no solution for finishing. They say “no good deed goes unpunished”, awarding this job to Alan instead of an established carpenter falls into that category.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There are many different styles and price ranges of trim and finish carpentry, so be sure that you and the contractor are on the same page. A 14 foot wainscot wall could be a simple $200 project using cheap materials, or it could be a $2,000 dollar project with raised panels and exotic hardwoods. Finish carpenters need to have an idea of what style you want, as well as your general price range to be able to best meet your expectations.
