Introduction: I train using positive only methods geared to help you and your dog learn to communicate with each other. I concentrate on redirecting unwanted behaviors into desired behaviors & rewarding for those behaviors. Part of the focus with this training is to help owners understand their dogs body language, build trust & set clear boundaries, leading to harmony and teamwork between dog and owner. Positively train your dog in the privacy of your own home. I will come to your home to work with you, your dog and other family members to train in the environment your dog spends most of his/her time. Does your dog think THEY rule the house? Does your dog bark at EVERYTHING? Does your dog take YOU for a walk? Does your dog have "SELECTIVE HEARING" and listen only when THEY want to? Most of the time, the behavior of your dog is simply caused by a lack of communication between you and your dog. It is vital to remember that you and your dog speak a completely different language. In order to understand each other, you as a dog owner will need some training as well as your dog. Having the knowledge on how to read your dog's body language is the key to understanding your dog and their behaviors. Once this line of communication is open, both you and your dog will be able to live happily together in peace. The communication program consists of five hours of training for you and your dog. This program allows you and your dog to finally understand each other. With this training, your dog will understand what you are trying to communicate to them. In this program, your dog will be trained to understand what behaviors are allowable and what behaviors are not. It will also give you, the dog owner, the knowledge of how to read your dogs behaviors and finally understand what your dog is trying to say to you! The feeling of accomplishment when a dog and their owner finally understand and respect each other allowing them to live in peace!

I was at my wits end with my dog. As heartbreaking as it was, I was at the point that I was going to have to re-home my precious pup. My dog was jumping on people, running out the front door at any chance she could get, barking, not coming when called, pulling me all over the place on the leash, chasing cars and other dogs. It was a living nightmare. Thank God I found Jennifer at A Divine Dog Training Academy! She saved my sanity and my dog. Jennifer is a true miracle worker. Not only did she train my dog, she trained me as well. Her training method was fun for me and my dog. My dogs behavior problems were fixed very quickly as well. MY DOG TRAINING PHILOSOPHY As a Science educator and a dog trainer, I feel it is my mission in life to utilize current scientific research on canine cognitive style along with positive reinforcement training methods to successfully help pet parents and their dogs to learn how to communicate with each other. My passion is to help pet parents and their dogs to have a lifelong relationship that is built on love and respect not on intimidation, physical punishment or fear. I feel that in order for dog training to be a successful endeavor, pet parents must understand the importance of using positive reinforcement methods only, have the knowledge on how to read their dog's body language, have a deep understanding of how their dog learns and perceives the world and to have the skills to ensure the training process is a fun, bonding experience. I feel that both the pet parent and their dog need to work together as a team in order to be successful. Therefore, I feel it is vital to remind pet parents they will need some training as well as their dog. All of these elements coupled together are critical to the success of the dog training process. When all of these elements are implemented, it leads to pet parents and their dogs having a lifelong relationship that is built on love and respect not on intimidation, physical punishment or fear.
