Introduction: My name is Beth Anne Teal and I have been teaching piano for over 12 years. My goal in teaching is to assist my students to learn the technical skills that will enable them to learn any music written on a page, but also to help them explore the more creative realms of improvising, composing, and arranging their favorite musical pieces. I have taught across a wide age and personality range, tailoring each lesson to meet the specific learning disposition of each student. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with my Master of Music degree in piano pedagogy. I am certified as an Early Childhood Music Educator through the Gordon Institute of Music Learning. I love working with all ages but have a special place in my heart for the youngest beginners. Beth Anne has an exceptional ability to hold the students' attention, and her positive attitude encourages them to excel. Her expertise is obvious, and the skill set she brings to her lessons is second to none. My granddaughter has been a student for over a year, and Beth Anne's teaching techniques has given her a passion and depth for music that truly showcases Beth Anne's talents and understanding of what is needed to make each student accomplish their goals. I haven't worked with Beth Anne for very long, but I can already tell that her approach to teaching is very different from the one with which I am familiar. I now have the opportunity to learn how to improvise (something I've looked forward to doing for a long time) and to improve my sight-reading through many different styles of music. I'm enjoying lessons and looking forward to making progress with my new teacher.

Beth Anne has been teaching my daughter piano for the past 6 years. She has always acted in a professional manner. She has encouraged Elisabeth through the tough times and has helped her to press on, even when it was starting to be a real challenge.
