Veteran Carpet Cleaners was on time. Cleaned sofa and loveseat to perfection. I even had a throw rug under a cocktable cleaned. Everything was professionally done. Price was right.

Our carpet looks brand new! We recently moved so we placed our house on the market. The carpet had several years of foot traffic and stains on it making it unfit for viewing by potential buyers. We tried cleaning the carpet ourselves with a Kirby, Electrolux, and a Room Doctor with zero success. When we called Clean Slate, they visited us that afternoon to discuss the challenge. They went over everything, there were no hidden fees and the service was absolutely incredible. Not only did they clean the carpet throughout the house but they also pressure washed the outside. Very professional. Very nice people. Very affordable. We’ll definitely be calling them again!

Wonderful experience! We needed carpets cleaned when moving out of a rental. It was easy to schedule the cleaning and the most affordable price I could find in the area. Highly recommend their service to anyone who needs to have carpets professionally cleaned prior to moving out of a rental.

Dixon came in the same day I requested him. He was here on time and OMG, my carpets look brand new and I have had them cleaned numerous times by other companies and they have never looked this good. He was polite, a very hard worker, very professional, and again I say...my carpet looks brand new! I am truly amazed at the outstanding job Dixon did and I would highly recommend him over any other carpet cleaning company. Not only was he AWESOME, but he was affordable and worth every cent. Call him today and make your carpet look brand new again!

Prime Property Solutions is the BEST! They called me almost immediately after I submitted my project on Thumbtack and they were able to squeeze me in the very next day to clean the carpets and clean the interior of the rental house that me and my family were about to move into with very short notice. They were on time, very professional and they did an AWESOME job on the house! When I first looked at it after our renters moved out, I pretty much gave up and decided that there was NO WAY that anyone could help us. The inside of the house was awful and the carpets looked absolutely unsalvageable, but Don and his team proved me wrong. When I saw the home after they were done, it looked brand new again and I can't thank them enough. Then, to make the experience even better, I found out that Don and his team used only natural/organic cleaners and supplies made with essential oils, which are sooooo much better for the environment and they also prevent nasty chemicals normally used for cleaning from being introduced into my home. Let me just say, "WOW!" A day or so later, Don also worked me into their schedule to clean the interior and the carpets in the home I was moving out of and again, they did a FANTASTIC job. They were able to get all the small stains out of the carpets and the house looked better when I moved out than it did when I moved in AND they stayed and made sure the job was done to my complete satisfaction before leaving. The workers were super professional and very polite while they were cleaning and I was 200% satisfied when the job was completed. They were also SUPER affordable, which allowed me to stay within my budget and get both homes clean on the inside and the carpets looking like BRAND NEW again! I highly recommmend Prime Property Solutions to anyone in need of their services. I am very picky and PPS came to the rescue. I will call them now anytime I need something done and I have told all of my friends and family how GREAT they are and what a AWESOME job they did. Most anyone I talk to cannot believe the before and after pictures. So, HIRE THEM, right now and you will NOT regret it!!!! Thanks a Million, James and Jennifer Sullivan

We have always chosen his services for over 3 years now and always have been extremely happy with the results. Dog makes a mess... Call Willie, spilled drink... Call Willie, just needing a good clean because of time(with or without animals)... Call Willie, stairs need cleaning... Call Willie. Never had to have my tiles cleaned but if I did my money is on Willie.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How do you find a good carpet cleaning company?

Regular professional carpet cleaning can both extend the life of your carpet and remove harmful pollutants from your home. Finding a good carpet cleaning company is an important aspect of home maintenance. When choosing a carpet cleaner, consider these top three questions:

  • What method of carpet cleaning do you prefer? Steam cleaning is an increasingly popular method because it’s thorough and safe, and dries quickly enough for you to return to your home the same day the carpets are cleaned.
  • Have you checked the company’s references? Most cities are home to several carpet cleaning companies, so it’s a good idea to check their reviews and references. Look for references from people in your neighborhood with homes similar to yours.
  • What’s included in the base price? What other services does the carpet cleaning company offer? Some companies will move furniture for you, while others charge a fee for it. Some include stairs in the cost of the home’s cleaning, while others charge per step.

What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.
