Introduction: I have been tutoring for 12 years, including 3 years of full time tutoring. I am only offering online tutoring for grades 1-5 at his time. I plan customized lessons for each individual student, based on their strengths, interests, and learning styles. I include fun and interactive games and activities to make learning fun. I also incorporate movement into my activities to keep the students active and engaged. I communicate with parents often and I send monthly progress reports to keep parents informed about the child’s progress.

Rachel has been great to work with helping our soon to be seven year old daughter brush up on her math skills. She makes the lessons fun and our daughter looks forward to her Zoom meetings with Rachel and is actually enjoying math. We would highly recommend Rachel for anyone looking for a tutor.

My son AJ started working with Rachel summer 2020 before entering grade 1. He was entering grade 1 with very minimal ability to read, identify letters/sounds and very basic math (counting) skills. Rachel has worked wonders! My son actually enjoys learning now and looks forward to his time with Ms. Rachel. She makes learning fun and accessible to him, meeting him where he is at. We ended grade 1 fully reading at a level where he should be at, and is ready for grade 2! Rachel communicates with parents extremely well, with a ton of learning tips, resources and recommendations. She provides very comprehensive reports on the child's progress, which is so helpful. Her ability to be flexible with scheduling has also been so great. I highly recommended Rachel for your child's learning needs.

Rachel has tutored both of my children for over a year. She is extremely creative and fun. Rachel has taught our son to read using engaging techniques online. She is very patient with our active, distractible young learners and manages to keep them interested. Rachel helped us immensely during the pandemic with online schooling. She gives us monthly progress reports and activities to work on between sessions. We would highly recommend Rachel to anyone.

I have been extremely happy with the services provided by Rachel. She is a true professional and treats your child and parents with kindness and respect. She creates a positive and welcoming learning environment, which enables your child to thrive.  I have seen great improvement in my child's ability to read, as well with comprehension. Rachel provides constant updates and is prompt with responding to any questions you have.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I am fairly flexible on my hourly rate. I can provide discounts for multiple hours per week as well as multiple children. I charge a travel for for any in-person tutoring done more than 10 miles away.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Before starting tutoring sessions I will meet with a student, either online or in person, to assess their skills and needs, I spend about 10-15 minutes assessing the student and spending time getting to know them and their interests and learning style. After assessing the student, I spend about 5-10 minutes talking to parents discussing results of the assessment. If the parent is interested in scheduling recurring tutoring sessions we discuss a plan, schedule, payment, and policies.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am in the process of renewing my GA teaching certificate. I have a Master's Degree in Education
