Excellent Job by Nery and team! He observed areas that needed water as well as areas that didn’t since hedges are established-team capped, installed new line, replaced rotars. Highly Recommend.

Gerardo is a hard working man! He came out to give us a more comprehensive estimate (upon request) and then worked us into his schedule a few days later. He and his team did a wonderful job for us. Their initial yard cleanup, hedge trimming, mowing, cutting, edging and weeding transformed our lawn. Several of my neighbors were watching his work and at least one offered him a job on the spot. We look forward to his continued service.

I had a great experience with S&S Landscaping. The owner answered questions quickly and had a quote for me faster than any other business. Because I could be flexible with timing, he was able to put me on the schedule within the week. He kept in contact and sent messages so I knew when to expect him on my appointment day. He and his crew tackled huge overgrown shrubs and shaggy hedges, making them look healthy and neat, and were very thorough in cleanup. To top it off, they were quick, polite, and very professional. I'm very happy with the results.

I had a home purchased as a REO.... Thinking I was making a savy investment; the home came with an unforeseen amount of work and maintenance to just get it to safety. I neglected the outside of my home... Doing the bear minimum and now it's just so far from manageable.... I needed to call in the pros. My home had overgrown kudzu, Ivy, over 20 over grown shrubs, trees and 5 large beds that looks like The jungle book. Needless to say... It was disgraceful and on the brink of causing me an anxiety attack. I call a few professionals for quotes but everyone was concerned about rover selling me vs giving me a practical solution. Meeting Marcos was a fresh of breath air. Humble, honest, genuine and intelligent.... He listened to me ramble about all of my issues and made sense of it all. He gave me tiers of service to help me budget short term and long term visions of my home. As a woman, having dealt with other contractors; I've become increasing aware of how we are regards. Well NOT Marcos, he is incredibly sensible, fair, And hardworking. His cost will generally be 1/2 the price of other contractor bc he won't draw out the project. He took down 2 trees, 8 shrubs, cleaned out 3 LARGE beds 20x3 and trimmed back trees, edgings, pruning and mowing on my 1 acres lot in 1 day. He's in my phone as a trusted vendor who I will continue to do business with in other areas of my business. Marcos is a top notch professional with an extremely efficient way of running his business Investors or homes owners that are looking for LARGE clearing of lawns for site prep, lawn makeover before selling or just maintenance... He is your guy!!! Thanks Marcos!

I want to give a shout out at the painter Dave (and his helper) used by East Georgia Home Service. They demonstrated great attention to detail, know-how, and customer focus. When you hire to get a paint job done, the imperfections on the walls and trims, etc. should be something that bothers the painter if it is not fixed which shows the painter has a high standard and is willing to take the time to do a fine job. I feel that you will get a quality paint job from East Georgia Home Service. Thank you.

I am thoroughly pleased with the customer service, professionalism, and timeliness of Arbor Tech, LLC. I met with the scheduler Jennifer, who was so kind to come out on a Sunday afternoon. She took time to listen to my needs as I pointed out several trees that needed trimming. Jennifer mentioned that Arbor Tech uses tree climbers to assist with cutting limbs so that no machinery plows through your yard. I was sold! Shortly after the visit Jennifer sent me a quote. I scheduled with Arbor Tech for 8 trees to be trimmed. A few days before our appointment a medium sized tall tree fell in our front yard. County assisted with half of tree that was in the road but I still needed the remainder of the tree to be cut and hauled. I called Jennifer and asked for the cut and haul to be added to my appointment. As before she was extremely kind and had it added to the invoice. On appointment day the team arrived 15 minutes early, they collectively went over what was being cut for accuracy and then got to work. Not only was their work superb, they left the yard and driveway extremely clean. I cannot thank Jennifer and the crew enough for their outstanding work. I will definitely be hiring this company again and would recommend others do the same.

Great job! My yard looks like a yard again. The bushes are trimmed well and the weeds were pulled from garden areas. Took care when trimming bushes to lay down tarps for easy clean up on the mulch. My husband got home and loved it! He is now relieved he does not have to take his only day off to do yard work! **Please remember my crape myrtle. Thank you for a great job. I’m hiring for every 2 weeks maintenance as well.

Enriquez Landscaping company did a fantastic job cleaning up my wooded backyard. They moved a beautiful Gardenia shrub and relocated a Camellia. They trimmed branches and removed all debris from the area. Carlo was friendly, professional, and a great communicator. Their price was extremely competitive. I am looking forward to hire them to do the next job.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to remove a tree stump?

Once you have a tree cut down, you’ll probably want to remove the tree stump as well. You may want the stump removed for aesthetics, the tree stump could be diseased, you might want to prevent regrowth, or you may find the roots are causing problems and need to be removed. Tree removal costs don’t always include the cost to grind out or dig out a tree stump after the tree has been felled and the trunk removed. The national average cost for stump removal ranges from $150 to $200. There are two main methods for dealing with tree stumps. In grinding, pros use a chipping machine to grind away the above-level tree stump until it sits just below the soil surface. Tree stump removal entails lifting the entire root ball of a tree out of the soil. Removing the stump will leave a hole in the ground and also take more time, labor and money than stump grinding. Here are some examples of average tree stump removal costs:

  • Stump grinding: $2-$4 per inch.
  • Tree stump removal: average of $60-$350.

The final price will depend on the stump’s size, condition, location and condition of the soil around it.

How much does it cost to have your lawn mowed?

Regular lawn maintenance can do wonders for your home’s curb appeal. Professional lawn care prices will vary based on the regional cost to do business and regional cost of labor, the size of your lawn, and any additional services you may desire such as edging or mulching. The national average for lawn mowing costs is $30-$50. Pros may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or by the square foot (an acre contains 43,560 square feet). Square footage rates factor in the professional’s time, the use of their equipment, and the gas to operate the mower. Distance may also affect cost: If you live outside the company’s standard service range, you may pay an additional travel fee. Here are some examples of average prices for mowing and lawn maintenance:

  • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
    • Bimonthly: $40 per service/$80 per month.
    • One time only: $45 per service.
      • Prices include mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.
  • Hourly rate: $25 per hour (including travel, equipment costs and labor).
  • Lot size:
    • Smaller lots in subdivisions: $35.
    • Half-acre lot: $50.
    • One-acre lot: $100.

How much does it cost to cut down a massive tree?

If you have to remove a big, beautiful tree from your property, you’ll definitely need an arborist. Cutting down a massive tree without the proper tools or training can lead to major property damage or injury. A huge tree may need to be removed if it is diseased or dying and poses a safety risk, has suffered a blow from a storm and isn’t safe, or is growing into your home, your home’s foundation, your septic system, or your power lines. Removal costs for such large trees will depend on the tree’s height, diameter, and relative safety and accessibility, as well as whether you also need the felled tree and stump removed. The bare minimum for removal of a tree over 75 or 80 feet would be $1,000. This may not include tree quartering and removal or stump grinding. Stump grinding ranges on average from $2 to $4 per inch of the stump’s diameter. There is no set price as each situation is unique, so it’s always best to have an arborist give you a quote and detail exactly which services are included in the price.

How much does it cost to trim a tree?

The national price range for tree trimming is $270-$450. Tree trimming is often done by a professional arborist who is trained to safely trim and prune trees for both the health of the tree and the safety of the residents and their property. Trying to do your own tree trimming is not advisable unless you have the proper know-how. Tree trimming companies may charge an hourly rate for their services. The hourly rate may be higher or lower for different trees to reflect the relative safety measures, skill, equipment or people power needed to handle the job. For this reason, most tree services provide free estimates.

One example of an hourly rate for professional tree trimming services is $150 per hour. Costs may be under $100 or could be higher than $300 per hour, depending on variables such as proximity to buildings, health of the tree, height and diameter of the tree, and type of tree trimming desired. Geography and regional cost of living and regional costs to do business will also play a role in your tree removal costs.

How much does it cost to cut a tree down?

When you’re ready to have a tree on your property come down, it’s time to call an arborist. The national average price range for tree-trimming costs is $270-$450. Tree removal costs can vary based on the height, diameter, location and health of the tree, and on whether you want to remove the stump. Height plays a major role in tree removal costs. Small trees, no more than 30 feet tall, are usually thinner in diameter and easier and safer for an arborist to manage. Removal of a small tree can cost anywhere from under $150 to over $450. Removal of medium-height trees, from 30 feet to 60 feet tall, could cost anywhere between $150 and $850 or more. Tall trees, typically 60 feet to 80 feet tall, may start at $500 or cost more than $1,000 to cut down. As the height and diameter increase, so does the cost.

Location is critical, too. Removing a tree in an open space is quicker and presents fewer obstacles than removing a tree that is growing flush to your house. Arborists can assess your tree and provide you with quotes based on the variables involved. For example, removing a medium-size hackberry tree that was growing too close to a home — the roots were damaging the home’s foundation — cost $1,500. This price included rope-down, house protection, tree quartering and stacking, and stump removal.
