I strong recommended Fray event for all your wedding needs!! She made the flowers for my wedding party!! Excellent service!!Sep 23, 2019Verified
I hired Morgan to do the flowers for my wedding reception/venue + wedding party. I am extremely picky and she went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with what I received. She went as far as to take me to the wear house with her so I could pick out exactly what I wanted. When I saw the flowers I was SHOCKED. They were 10000x more than the best product I had pictured. Not only did she do a beautiful job on the flowers and reception decor, but she made sure I had everything on my checklist (and then some lol) crossed off. She made sure my event from start to finish ran smoothly and even went as far as to make a timeline for the whole day of my wedding. Morgan is so kind and sweet and really made sure I was happy and no stressed out on the days leading up to my wedding and on the day of my wedding. If you are thinking of hiring a pro to do either flowers or event planning, Morgan is your girl! *PS Morgan will even surprise you with a couple beautiful items you didn’t know about! She is the best!Sep 22, 2019Verified
Morgan at Above the Fray did a fantastic job arranging my 4 years old son’s birthday party. She was very professional, sweet and caring. I was amazed with her talent decorating our party and the creativity she used making our party the best of the best. She is very insightful and smart. My son loved his birthday party with his friends. We owe it all to this young lady who owns Above the Fray Events. I would highly recommend Above the Fray to those who wants to have a stress free and amazing party where they can enjoy with their loved ones. Thank you very much for putting together such an amazing party.Dec 25, 2019
Morgan was extremely rude, controlling, and hovering on the wedding day. I was one of the bridesmaids and Morgan complained to me about the bride just before the bride showed up. I felt this was very unprofessional and ruined the overall mood of the wedding. Morgan also did not leave the newly wed couple alone during the reception but then left some of the major tasks to the bridal party. The music kept stopping and it was left to me to figure it out. Also, she did not have a way of playing the music so she took my phone for the whole day in order to play music off of my phone at the reception.Sep 23, 2019
Morgan Fray planned and executed a birthday party for my 8 year old grandson who wanted a "Beyblade" party. She created a tournament and the kids LOVED it. When an 8 year old tells you it was the "Best Birthday EVER" it is special. Morgan did everything, food, games, decorations, cake, even an official referee for the tournament. She kept the party moving so no one got bored. She had a "make your own beyblade station and the boys made their headbands which was a blast. I just don't have pictures of it. Even parents stayed to watch the tournament. It was wonderful. This was just a child's birthday party, but she gave it her utmost attention. I can only imagine how wonderful she would be with a wedding or large event. I would absolutely recommend Above the Fray Events! Happy Grandma!Oct 2, 2019
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? My typical process centers around the client's preferences. After we meet on Thumbtack, I schedule a call so we can talk over what the client wants and what their budget is. I write up a quote based on that conversation, and the client can then decide whether or not to hire me.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I got started after my own wedding. I worked so hard on it that I didn't have any fun. After that, I set out to make sure none of my friends suffered the same fate. I got pretty good at coordinating and designing. Years later, I've decided to return to that passion as a professional.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?I would think about how much you want to be involved in both the planning and in the actual day of execution. Too often, people work so hard on an event that they are not able to enjoy it! I tried to DIY my entire wedding, and I wound up only getting to see my mother one the entire day! So, remember, who ever is working your event will not be having as much fun at the event as the other guests. It is worth the money to get help on the day of, to make sure everyone enjoys the day.
