Hired Adrian and his crew for a lot of miscellaneous cleanup projects in my yard: pruning, weeding, mulching, clearing brush/overgrowth. He was timely and responsive. Very friendly. And did a great job making everything look tidy.

Your recollection of the conversation is incorrect. Your initial quote for 270 ft x 6 ft x 3 in (i.e., 16 cubic yards) was “$1,000 for everything,” which includes a $400 installation fee. I then responded I could source mulch for $25/yard and offered to pay $875: $400 (16 x $25/yard) + $400 (installation fee) + $75 as a courtesy. You came to the house to survey the property and agreed to provide 270 ft x 6 ft x 3 in for $875. You clearly did not come with enough mulch to complete the project and your response of “..buying the amount of mulch you wanted for your price” is an admission of that. I even offered to pay an additional $275 to make up for what I realize is now your mistake, which is now costing us more than your initial quote of “$1,000 for everything”. Not only did you still not complete the project, you provided old mulch and left garbage in our backyard.

In summary, they are not equipped to accurately price projects, not equipped to take on large yards, and I would not recommend their services. All pictures were taken and submitted on day of project completion.
Pros: On time, Communicative
Cons: Installation of mulch. I ordered 16 cubic yards to cover 270ft x 6ft x 3in and was the perfect amount in a previous mulch install. Belk Landscaping delivered in a F-250 truck bed and a 10ft x 5ft open trailer; the previous mulcher delivered in a dump truck (1st red flag). After their first day, I realized there was no deeper than 1.5 inches in the entire yard. I also found absolute bare spots. Additionally, they only covered ~75% of the anticipated area. The excuse given for running short is "leaves in the bed" (to which they did not remove nor mention until completion). However, they inspected the job site prior and confirmed how much would be needed. Additionally, weight of 3 inch depth mulch will weigh down leaves. An additional $275 later to complete the remaining 20% (2nd red flag), they STILL weren't close to meeting the initial project specs. Upon negotiations to complete the job, they asked for additional money for supplies to meet the depth I initially ordered (3rd red flag) and that they'd do me a favor and charge half for labor.
