My experience with Jackie's bakery was completely horrible, the cake we were given on our wedding day did not look like the picture we sent her and when her and her assistant arrived they were nothing but rude, unprofessional, and gave my husband and myself attitudes when we told them we did not like how the cake looked(I accidently told them to be there an hour early and instead of handling it professionally they were rude). My husband talked to them before I did and when he tried apologizing for the miscommunication of the time, Jackie's assistant started to bad mouth me (the bride). And on top of all of that after knowing we weren't satisfied with the cake they did not offer to give our money back, and to be quite honest it looked like complete shit. They left cardboard in the cake, so when we cut it pieces of cardboard went into the cake, there was supposed to be flowers and pearls on the cake(there was none), and the cake's shape was similar to the picture but definitely not the same. We had an outdoor reception in Jacksonville, FL so yes it was hot but using that as an excuse for a cake that looks like crap is not okay. We understand it started melting a little but that honestly wasn't that big of an issue, even with all of that they still should not have handled it the way they did. Jackie's assistant needs to be fired for having the nerve to try and bad mouth me to my husband on my wedding day, especially when the cake was not what we wanted at all. We didn't even save the top of the cake for our one year wedding anniversary because that's how badly it was made, needless to say we will never be doing business with her bakery ever again.Aug 5, 2014VerifiedJacqueline R.'s reply
I am terribly sorry for what you experienced. As this is the first time this has been said. If she was rude I will speak with her. The cake according the picture was done with the changes requested. I do know that the cake arrived at 430 and was waiting to be set up for about 2 hours. As this does not excuse if somebody was rude. I again do apologize for your experience again. I was also told that my assistant was also asked to set up for your reception and I hope that was ok. The cake was redone while waiting because of it melting and the sea gulls that flying around. As far as cardboard, it is cake boards that are placed to hold the cakes. I apologize again and will speak to her on this matter.
Words cannot convey how absolutely perfect my experience was with Jackie. She is a great communicator and was there early in order to insure set up was done perfectly. The cake itself was a work of art and every guest raved about how beautiful it was and how delicious. I am still in awe that she was able to do such a gorgeous, delicious 3-tier wedding cake for the price she gave us- she has unbelievable prices!!! If you need a perfect cake done for an unbelievable price for your wedding or another special occasion, please do yourself a favor and hire Jackie, you will not be disappointed, I swear!May 6, 2014Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?No complications everything is simple by the slice or a standard set price depending on the type of dessert or cake you want.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have never been to school for this, although I think it will be fun to try, just have to make sure my children are taken care of first and I can get it scheduled.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I love to draw and paint, every since I was a little kid. One day I saw a cake made with fondant and I thought, how can I do that and add a little of my skills to it. I tried and practiced and never gave up and I am still here learning more about cakes and candies every day.
