Carlos was great! Arrived on time and completed the job quickly. I'm so glad we hired him. He hung 2 heavy chandeliers from 10 foot ceilings and made it look easy. Total job was installing 2 chandeliers and 2 wall sconces. We will definitely keep him in mind for any future electrical work.

Felipe is a real professional. He showed up to give me an estimate and was able to come back the next day to complete the job. I was in a real time crunch due to family coming in town for the holidays. He made my foyer look beautiful after another hired contractor had destroyed it. He also painted over wall paper in 2 bathrooms and they look great now! He painted another wall that was damaged by hanging shelves and you would never know how bad they looked before that. Felipe was also nice enough to patch a couple imperfections he noticed without additional charge. I will definitely use him again. I'm about to have a very merry Christmas!!!

I needed my office and one wall in my bedroom painted and Doug replied immediately with a fair quote after seeing the photos. He sent over one of his guys to knock the job out who was very cool and laid back. i forget his name, but he was professional, open to fixing any mistakes and unobtrusive while he worked.

We had a TV wall mounted along with a sound bar and speakers. I picked Telly Wall because if the name and past reviews. We were not disappointed. They came on time and did an excellent job!! The price was very reasonable for the work done and the amount of time spent doing the job. They even cleaned up afterwards. Since moving to GA, using Telly Wall was probably one of the best choices I made. I highly recommend them!

Everything went great. We have a very old house. Nothing is normal. We needed our kitchen drywalled after being gutted, a new wall, and a number of crack repairs. Franklin and his team worked through many challenging issues over 3 days. They were very professional, friendly and clean. At very fair price. Highly recommended.

Miguel Munoz and his team remodeled a very large section of our house. They created 4 large new rooms (framing, walls, ceilings, painting and finishing) including a state-of-the-art fitness and media room. The pricing was very reasonable - great value, the quality was 5 stars out of 5 stars. Extremely professional, trustworthy, great craftsman, and they kept everything very clean the entire length of the project. We have a 2nd remodeling project coming up in May and will be using this company again. I highly recommend them for small jobs and large ones.

I needed some touchup painting throughout house and 1 big wall in my master and some outside trim. I met Traci for the estimate and then she showed up with Jimmy to do the walk through and show him what was needed. Jimmy (the cut-in Master) did an amazing job and was great company. It was a 2 day job and Traci and Jimmy came back the next day to finish up the outside trim and did an amazing job. Traci has a great eye and sees all the imperfections and fixes them all to perfection. A++++++ team, I would highly recommend!!!

Fernando and his crew worked with us to prepare our house for sale. They did a great job preparing and painting garage walls and floor, master bath and closet, stripping and staining the banister and staining our decks. Fernando was available to work around our schedule as needed. We felt his rates were very reasonable and would use his services again.

He's very humble, with awesome work ethics and provided excellent services for my family on two separate occasions. One where he did some light paint job around our house and the other was when he mounted my tv on the wall and assemble my son's bed. I was very pleased with Celise's work and would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Rafael and his team did an outstanding interior painting job at my condo. I needed to repaint my one bedroom condo walls and ceiling. This was my first time using Thumbtack to hire contractors so I was little skeptical in the beginning. I met up with several contractors for an estimate but the quote and schedule did not work. Rafael was willing to work with quick turnaround schedule for a reasonable price. Throughout the whole process, he was honest and very responsive. My condo has a strict HOA restrictions for contractors but Rafael still came through and brought in his team to paint my place! His team arrived at at a scheduled time and Rafael updated me to let me know second coat was needed. We've already discussed second coat price so it was not a surprise. I went home after work and my place looked amazing! Even the corners of the wall looked neatly painted and the color was just as I expected. They also unmounted my TV, took down the curtains and unscrew nails before they painted the walls at no additional cost. Of course, the TV was mounted back on the wall just like before after the paint. Overall, I'm satisfied with the paint job and most importantly the reliability. Buying a house and moving can be very stressful but Rafael made the painting portion of my place so easy. No miscommunication, no surprise fees and prompt response throughout the whole process!!! THANK YOU! I'm referring him to my friends and will come back for another business in the future. See you again!

James came out and installed a CAT6 network in my house. He ran all the cables and installed outlets in every room. He did a great job installing the outlets and didn't damage the walls or the paint. Everything was hooked up and working with no issues. I would highly recommend Camouflage Construction to anyone needing work done.

Great job at patching the holes I had in my wall it’s like they were never there

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much will it cost to fix a hole in the wall?

If you have a hole in your wall, don’t despair; drywall repair professionals can patch the hole and repaint the surface and no one will be the wiser. The cost to repair a drywall hole depends on the size of the surface area of the damage, the materials and labor required, and (for a minor repair) any minimum service fee the repair company may charge. The actual labor and drywall prices may be lower than the minimum service fee, but pros must ensure their business overhead costs are met when they go out on minor jobs. To help keep costs low once the pros get there, make sure you have the right paint on hand if you want them to do to a touch up after the repair is complete, so you don’t keep them wait (and charging you for their time) while you search in the garage. Here are two examples of average prices for smaller drywall repair jobs:

  • Approximate cost to repair a 5-foot crack in a wall: $125 (labor $75 and materials $50).
  • Approximate cost to repair a 3-foot ceiling crack: $150.

What is the difference between sheetrock and drywall?

People sometimes use the terms “sheetrock” and “drywall” interchangeably, but they are not exactly the same. Drywall is the industry term for prefabricated sheets of wall, while Sheetrock is the brand name of a type of drywall. Depending on what room is being built, your drywall installation pro will select different thicknesses or grades of drywall. Standard residential drywall is ½-inch thick. Garage walls adjacent to a living space are typically ⅝-inch thick and serve as a firewall. For a garage ceiling, most contractors will use firewall-grade drywall materials to keep your home as safe as possible.

Different types of drywall can be color-coded to indicate their purpose. Purple or green drywall boards are often mold-resistant (MR) and are applied where moisture tends to accumulate, such as in bathrooms and basements or behind tile backsplashes at sinks. These mold-resistant sheets have a fiberglass instead of a paper facing finish to prevent water absorption. Regular drywall is gray or white. The drywall industry is constantly adapting with technology to provide safer and more targeted materials. You can even install soundproofing drywall to help prevent noise transfer through rooms.

How much does it cost to put up drywall?

The national average cost to hire a drywall installation professional ranges $375-$1,500, depending on the job at hand and where you are in the country. Your drywall installation cost will often be lower if the professional is installing the drywall in a new construction with open access as opposed to a remodel. The square footage of the job, the amount of materials, and the labor required also determine drywall prices. According to drywall pros, materials costs can range from 15 percent to 50 percent of your total project cost, depending on the work you’re having done. Request several quotes from drywall installation companies to find the right fit for your construction project. The quotes may be based on the company’s standard cost per square foot or a calculation of the time estimated to complete the job plus the size of the job plus materials and any travel fees. For example, drywall installation for one or two standard-size rooms could cost $900-$1,500. The cost to hang and tape an outbuilding with approximately 40 drywall sheets at 75 cents per square foot could total $1,450, including 3.75 days of labor for the drywall crew.

How much does it cost to repair drywall?

The national average price range to repair drywall is $210-$300. Drywall prices can vary greatly depending on the size of the hole or crack that needs repair, the amount of materials required, and other factors. Cracks can appear at the seams in your drywall due to uncontrollable factors like your house settling or even minor earthquakes. Drywall, although sturdy, will break with enough impact, so if a dresser falls and crashes into a wall or your have a mishap hammering in nails for artwork, you could need drywall repair. Drywall repair professionals may have a minimum service fee of $100-$150 regardless of the size of the job. This ensures that their business expenses are met anytime they send their crew out to a job. Here are some additional examples of average drywall repair prices:

  • Sand and texture five wall patches: $200 (45 minutes of labor and $40 of materials).
  • Repair a 4x8 section of wall: $225 (labor $150 and materials $75).
  • Replace drywall in an entire bedroom: $1,500 (price varies depending on the number of windows, whether there’s metal trim, etc.).
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
