Greg did a great job on our project. We asked Greg to make a 10 foot long server with piano black finish for our dining room and he delivered everthing we asked for and more. This piece of furniture is clearly well made by a professional craftman who cares about his work and clients. The interior design we required was a bit unusual, but it was made exactly we we wanted and Greg was attentive to every detail and easy to work with. We would highly recommend him.

Greg did an absolutely outstanding job with this project. I asked him to restore a nearly 100 year old dresser and bed for my wife's birthday. The project was very special as it was passed down to my wife from her Great-Great-Grandmother. Greg delivered the project ahead of schedule, on my wife's birthday to be exact, and made a point to be available to meet on a Sunday so I could get it to her. I'd recommend Greg for anyone looking for a serious craftsman who takes pride in his work. J. Harris

Greg doesn't manage details and follow up. Unfortunately while Greg can put wood together, his "custom" cabinets could just as easily have been purchased at Home Depot or Lowe's. For our project, we ended up with drawers that cannot accommodate handles because they won't open because of poor design. Add to that missing peg holes to support shelves; missing shelves and cabinets that required retrofitting because the measurements didn't accommodate the existing gas line. Greg will not return our texts. Since we paid for the job he has been completely unresponsive. Greg adamantly claims he's not a contractor. After working with him, we agree.
Design Woodworks's reply
The drawers worked perfectly fine hand hard slab drawer fronts so how could they not possibly receive any handle. The cabinet doors where accepted and I was in fact told that they were beautiful. The problem is that the knobs chosen were not correct for those Stiles and rails. The gas line is exactly as was during the original configuration and after a lengthy discussion and recommendation to move the gas line I was told to just set the cabinets over the gas line as the old ones were and that is exactly what I did. Some shelf holes, three or four to be exact, approximately 4 quarter inch shelf were missing. After being out of pocket for a period of time for medical reasons I return to find text requesting shelf pins that could have been obtained $4 50 at Home Depot. I received no phone calls so clearly it was not that important. It is ironic that Over a four-year. I maintain a 5-star rating on Home Advisor and these last two have unnecessary issues. One I did not even work with and again, the other this one in particular caused many delays in the tune of weeks which I accommodated. A simple phone call would have sufficed. Again, it seems people think that texting is a proper way to do business I do not need to make a simple phone call. Have they taken the time to become informed of what the situation was they may have been surprised how responsive I would be happy to have been even though I was told they could pick up the shelf pins which is a minimum of a 20 mile distance. That people cannot pick out knobs or handles that fit the doors properly is something they should get a handle on since they chose the knobs after seeing the doors.

Don’t use this guy. He rescheduled once, which I don’t mind. Then I scheduled again and he was a no-show and never returned a call/text
Design Woodworks's reply
After the reschedule was sat I received text with stipulations. First off I don't do business via texting and I certainly would expect not to receive said stipulations within half hour of the time I was to be there. Having fun doing this for 40 years one learns to identify potential customers and projects that would not be a good match. It is not any contractors obligation to accept all jobs especially if it requires low betting to obtain the job. That does not happen to be my niche as I am a professional woodworker. I am on numerous sites and maintain a 5-star rating I'm all. If one were to check Home Advisor they would find more than 40 reviews which include not one review I've less than a four-and-a-half star out of 5. Some people just have anger issues against the world. Having said that, I strive to please everyone. "This guy" has only assured me I made the right decision.
