Great intro lesson! Parker let me learn at my own pace, and was able to recommend songs/techniques perfect for a beginner bassist. The guitar shed is new, but already becoming nice and homey.

Gene has been teaching guitar lessons to my son for five years now. He is always on time, and often stays longer than our scheduled lesson time if my son needs additional help from him. He is extremely knowledgable about every aspect of the guitar and theory. He teaches every genre, improvisation, and songwriting. I would recommend Gene Hilbert to anyone who wants to learn to play the guitar!

Nick is an awesome teacher! He has a great rapport with my daughter, who takes piano and guitar lessons. He's always on time, polite, and professional. I was amazed by the talent of his older students at the last recital.

I welcome beginner to advanced students. My lesson plans are customized to students' interests- rock, country, Gospel/ contemporary Christian music, etc. If you're a beginner, I won't make you learn to read music at first. I would rather get you to the point where you can play a few songs and chords first, giving you some time to get used to playing guitar. I'll write down your songs and exercises for you on "tablature", which is easier than reading music. Then I can phase you into reading music a few weeks later. For the intermediate to advanced student, I can teach you more about chord progressions, chord construction, harmony, transposition (changing a song from one key to another), improvisation (making it up as you go along), the Nashville number system, etc. And if you're playing at church or in a band, I will be glad to help you learn specific songs.

I have played guitar for over 25 years, and I have taught for more than 17 years. I have taught people of several age groups and of various levels -- beginner, intermediate, expert. I teach various techniques including playing by ear, sight reading and improvisation. I teach chord theory and scale theory and help apply those to practical use. I also work on giving my students a platform to showcase and also have periodic recitals and rewards associated with good performance.
