FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First, we're going to say that we don't give estimates, we give firm, fixed quotes. That said, there are really two answers to this question: We would never give you a quote without seeing your property first. To do so would be irresponsible, and frankly, dishonest. Any contractor that wants to quote over the phone without meeting you first should be avoided. There are just too many variables to be able to give an accurate quote over the phone. We will come to your home, ask you specific questions about the project from which we'll be able to calculate that quote price for you. This leads into the second answer. Typically, we prefer to present the quote to you in the home, either the same day or soon after, schedules permitting. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the pricing you see. However, if you need us to send the Quote to you by email, we will do so, provided we still have the chance to go over it with you.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If a painting contractor is not able to produce the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, do not hire them, as you may be responsible for any injuries or other accidents that occur and be liable for medical expenses and loss of wages. (Call the insurance carriers to verify the policies are still in effect.) Fresh Coat will happily provide you with a copy of our insurance information when we present you with our Quote. You are welcome to confirm any information we provide. As a reminder, you may want to check into Georgia's requirements for Contractors in terms of insurance and Worker's Compensation. At Fresh Coat: ~ We are required to maintain Workers Compensation insurance for all our painters, regardless of state requirements. ~ We are required to carry no less than $500,000 in liability insurance for our business. ~ If, for some reason, we need to use a subcontractor to do the work, they will need to meet these requirements as well, or we will not use them.
