The only good part to this experience is that it's over. From the first time they came they were fussing and cursing at each other. So he tuned the piano the first time told me he to order some parts and would come back when the parts come in,he would do the second running and do repairs. When he came back they took my piano apart and then told me I needed to replace all the hammers on my piano. Told me it would be 800.00 to do that I told him didn't have money for that now just put it back together and I would play it like it was. So about 20 minutes later he call me to living room telling he couldn't get my piano back together, told me to find someone else to do it that refund my money I had already gave him. So now I'm going to have to find someone to put my piano and repair the hammers that they were suppose to repair. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. This is how they left my piano.Aug 29, 2017VerifiedAnglin Piano Tuning, LLC's reply
Mr. Lewallen, I am sorry you were not happy with my service. However, I believe that you have misrepresented several key facts of our interaction that I would like to report here. My spouse and I were not “fussing and cursing at each other” from the moment we arrived. I did curse when I hurt my hand while reattaching your piano’s pedal rods to its action. I actually apologized to you in your kitchen and explained that I have been diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome and that this sometimes occurs. On the first visit, 2 hammer felts popped off of the hammer heads during tuning. I have never seen this happen. I told you I needed to order 2 new hammer heads to replace those and that I would do that when I came back for the fine tuning. You agreed to that plan and paid me a $100 deposit ($85 was for the tuning and $15 towards the cost of the new hammers). When we arrived for the second visit, we were able to remove the action from the piano. However, when we got the action onto the floor and placed it at an angle, I discovered that nearly 2 dozen hammer felts had come unglued on the bottom sides of the hammers. I showed this to you and told you that indeed these hammers were defective and that I would recommend a new set. I informed you that I did not have a firm price, but it could be $750-$800. You informed me that you had only paid $100 for the piano and declined to invest any money in major repairs. When my spouse and I attempted to replace the action in the piano, we discovered that one of the action rods (the far left one) is bent inward at a sharp angle. I tried straightening it out with a hammer to no avail. We were unable to get the action back in the piano successfully. I explained the situation to you and told you that in light of everything, I would refund your $100 and give you 2 brand new hammer heads (a $21 value) absolutely free and you could find someone else to take care of your piano with its several major defects. You agreed to that and we shook on it. I tried to provide the best customer service throughout the entire situation, sir, even though ultimately I was unable to repair your piano. All the best.
Robert was on time and did fantastic work. He even gave us a mini recital after he was done tuning. Best the piano has sounded in over 10 years! Highly recommended.Aug 8, 2018Verified
Inherited a piano from family and don't know much about what I need. The entire process was described at a level I could understand. The piano sounded significantly better once the tune up was complete. Will use for future tunings.Apr 30, 2018Verified
