Dave is a great guitar teacher! He is very knowledgeable, professional, responsive, punctual, etc. I feel like a lot of teachers sort of wing it when they see you and a lot of the time they don't really understand your goals, but Dave is very good at understanding what you want/need and helping you get there. He's also a really nice guy. I also love that I get to take my lessons with him via Skype because there's no commute to see him and I feel it ends up saving me a lot of time. It might seem scary or weird at first if you don't use Skype a lot, but I highly recommend it!

Paige was great! I had several lessons with her last year and as a beginner I can say she was very patient with me. There’s a gentleman that works with her that also gives lessons and even though I only saw him once was professional as well. She was very flexible with me with my work schedule. Overall great experience, highly recommend!

Mr. Cordell is a great teacher who has an amazing depth of knowledge when it comes to music. A formal education in music, a couple decades of experience with the guitar, and years of teaching have honed his skills and his ability to pass those on to others. I highly recommend him for players who are serious about advancing their skills or others who are looking to learn how to play overall. Practice often and you will be happy with the results.

Awesome teacher!! I have been taking lessons for five years with Eric and can honestly say that I would not be where I am as a guitarist today if I hadn't. As a teacher, Eric helps to explain not only "how" to play, but goes further to explain the "why" behind it all, teaching the "music theory" behind what is being played in a way that is both understandable and applicable to becoming a better musician. Starting out as just a beginner, I knew that there was always something new that I could learn from Eric, from learning how to play my favorites songs, to being taught new chord structures and scale concepts, I always had something cool, exciting, and challenging to go home and practice. I would highly recommend Eric as a teacher for anyone looking to become a better guitarist and musician.

I am of 'advanced maternal age' and it was quite a leap to attempt a life long dream of playing the piano. I didn't know where to begin so I googled Piano Teachers in my area. It was my great fortune to sign up with Teal Justice. She approached each student individually (I eavesdrop while waiting for my lesson to begin), teaching the youngsters to read music, place hands properly and adds theory and history to her lesson. As an older student, I could care less about theory ~ I just want to play...under her guidance, I have advanced through two books in less than a year and have taken on a third for my own enjoyment.

Michael is great. He's a friendly instructor who knows what he's doing and really tries to help you improve, and the atmosphere of the learning space is great. The fact that he's younger than most teachers really helps me - I feel like I can relate to him than my previous teachers. Looking forward to working with him for a long time.

Our son began lessons with Ryan 5 years ago, after becoming bored and stagnant with his previous teacher of 2 years. With a child that was very talented and serious at pursuing a possible music career,we really wanted to make sure he had the best teacher for him that pushed him and challenged him but at the same time did it in a way that would encourage him, not discourage him.Because our son was easily bored,we also needed a teacher that could teach many different styles or genres, knew theory and could teach sight reading and was able to move at whatever pace was needed to challenge our son.Ryan worked on rock, blues jazz and classical guitar, sight reading ear training, song writing skills, improvisation only to name a few,but above all taught him to work hard and never give up.He helped him prepare for a very challenging audition to get into a very competitive music college, Belmont University. Ryan made sure that when the audition came up, our son was ever so confident when his audition time came up and was totally prepared in every possible way.Through the years, our son developed a strong sense of trust and friendship that he has been able to use as he is in college as a sophomore. While in college, our son will periodically still rely on Ryan for his professional views on different challenges. He also looks forward to breaks and summers to get together with Ryan and play, learn and get advice. It was never about Ryan making his fee,but about making sure our son was pushed during every lesson to the best of his abilities.Even if it meant staying over a few minutes or calling during the week to check and make sure he was able to work at the music homework he had given and was not frustrated. We highly recommend Ryan Strickland. He is a very professional dedicated musician that loves his job and will go over and beyond for all of his students. We feel as parents that Ryan pushed our son to help him fulfill his utmost dreams and passion and realize there are no limits.

I have had other guitar teachers over the years but none who taylor their lessons to my needs as well as Tyson! He is extremely knowledgeable and versatile. He is positive and encouraging. I highly recommend him to the beginner, the person who is played for a while that wants to get better, and for those who haven’t played for a long time who are picking the instrument back up again. Instructors don’t come any better than Tyson!!

Derek Ferwerda is an incredible instructor. I've been a student of Derek's for many years, and the quality of instruction and the incredible amount of love he has for teaching and his students is unparalleled, and something you won't find anywhere else in the world; let alone the Southeast... I originally began with Derek as a guitar player, but after a while working with guitar he helped me find that bass guitar was my true calling. Since I began working with Derek as an amateur musician and just a kid with a dream, I have gone on to play in many local bands, record with other artists, and I've had the opportunity to share stages with some of the most incredible musicians you'll ever come across. What sets the Guitar Room apart from other schools is Derek's linguistic approach to learning and teaching music, and the very warm, loving, welcoming environment I have found with his community of students. He has an incredible dedication to his students, and will do anything and everything to help them reach their highest potential. When you come to the Guitar Room, you will find not only an incredibly talented and dedicated mentor and instructor, you will also find an incredibly supportive community of students and musicians that will embrace you or your child, and help them reach their potential as musicians and people. I couldn't recommend Derek Ferwerda and The Guitar Room any more. You won't find better anywhere!!!!

Our daughter had been taking violin lessons for several years, but for the past three years her former teacher’s health reduced her lessons to fewer than 10 a year. We came to Cindy with a tall order ... to get our daughter ready for not one, but two, high stakes auditions ... the first three months after starting with Cindy and the second eight months after starting. If Cindy felt the task daunting, she never let on. She worked with us throughout the process and our daughter was accepted into the Forsyth Youth Orchestra and a earned a coveted violin seat in a prestigious performing arts high school! We could not be more pleased with Cindy and the work she has done with our daughter!!

Christia has been teaching both of my daughters for about a year now. She is very kind and always accommodating for lesson times when our weekly schedules get crazy. She is one of those teachers who takes your child under her wing and through her expertise, enthusiasm, kindness, and encouragement helps your child to become a better singer/performer. She's a bit of a life coach too - teaching her students to strive for excellence in all they do. It's very evident that she cares deeply for all of her students and wants to help them be their best and experience success. I have seen great progress with both of my daughters. We are extremely happy with Christia's instruction and would highly recommend her.

Kris has been teaching three of my seven children for almost two years now. I majored in music at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and taught voice for seven years. Kris has a two-pronged strategy of teaching both technique along with theory, which is integral in the understanding of the structure of music. My children love him, and he understands both the seventeen year old and the ten year old, giving them all music they can both identify with and WANT to learn. As soon as we can, I will sign my eight year old up!

We've met Mrs. Amy for the first time in 2009, I was looking for a piano teacher for my son. He was 8 and he never played any instrument before, I wasn't event sure he would have liked piano. They had a connection from the beginning. Mrs. Amy is extremely professional, demanding, but also gentle, very passionate and a sweet woman. She doesn't like wasting time, but she always found the time during class to talk with my son about his day, without compromising productivity. My son started with a 30 minutes class and the amount of progresses he made was incredible for a such short amount of time. After a couple of years, I signed him up for an hour long class, with the approval of the teacher. We doubled the time of learning and my son always told me that time was flying. He grew with her, the bond between this wonderful teacher and my son was amazing, based on respect, desire to learn, complicity, and yes, fun. My son is 13yo now, he loves playing piano and he's also playing trumpet in the school's band. Unfortunately we moved out of GA otherwise we would have never stopped piano lessons with Mrs. Amy. Great woman, great teacher, we've been blessed to find such a great person. I definitely recommend her for any kid, or teen who wants to start loving music and piano. Samuela
