Chef John prepared a wonderful birthday dinner for my wife and our friends. He exceeded our expectations! We are so sad to hear that he will be retiring soon and we just found him! He does outstanding work and he cleaned everything before he left. I can’t say enough great things about the experience!

Chef John and his team were nothing short of amazing. We hired him to prepare a private dinner and he came up with a delicious multi-course menu to rave reviews. His scallops in phyllo with parmesan cream was a delight to the tastebuds, and his grilled shrimp cocktail had peaches and herbs from his own personal garden. He truly cares about the quality of his food. When we originally spoke it was winter, and when we spoke again it was spring. He patiently went through the menu with us and made the changes so that we could have the best of what was in season. That level of care and professionalism was greatly appreciated. His team was also punctual and worked cleanly. The communication with him and his team was fast and easy. Chef John himself is super friendly and easygoing. We highly recommend John Fravel Private Chef & Catering. Book them for your next special event - it is truly a great experience!

John and his team did an excellent job planning, cooking, serving, and cleaning up our six people's family birthday dinner. He helped me choose all of my wife's favorite foods and put together a perfect menu. I would recommend John to our friends and colleagues. They left our kitchen completely clean!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Customers pay a 50% deposit for the event to reserve the date and to purchase the food. Balance is due the date of the event. We do not charge travel fees, and gratuity is at the discretion of the customer.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a suggested menu based on their request, and then ask for their input to start a dialogue. I stay in touch so that they are assured their party will go exactly as they want it to.
