Taking violin lessons (and now viola) with Paige. It's been a much better experience for me than my first time trying to learn violin. I appreciate that she's willing to adapt her lessons to my own goals and also select music that is actually pleasing to listen to even for an absolute beginner. As some other reviews mentioned, she's also very quick to reply to any messages.

What a great experience my son has had since starting guitar lessons at Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music. The staff could not be nicer or more professional. The teachers are all highly experienced, and you can just tell that they love what they do. They make the children, and the parents, feel like family. I wouldn't take my child any place else, and I would highly recommend this music school to anyone - great place!

I have had other guitar teachers over the years but none who taylor their lessons to my needs as well as Tyson! He is extremely knowledgeable and versatile. He is positive and encouraging. I highly recommend him to the beginner, the person who is played for a while that wants to get better, and for those who haven’t played for a long time who are picking the instrument back up again. Instructors don’t come any better than Tyson!!

Nick is an awesome teacher! He has a great rapport with my daughter, who takes piano and guitar lessons. He's always on time, polite, and professional. I was amazed by the talent of his older students at the last recital.

In a few words, I never thought I was going to be able to play the bass. Now I am. And I owe it to Linda. She's the most patient, talented, resourceful teacher I've ever met. She's fun to be around and is always interested in learning new songs just so she can teach me. I would recommend Linda to anyone who not only wants to learn how to play an instrument but is also looking for having a good time while learning. Thank you for everything, Linda!

About

My teaching style is based on creating a patient and creative environment where you’re comfortable taking chances and learning from mistakes. Luckily in music it’s what you do after a mistake that matters. I also build on what you already know and pointing out what you're doing right. I try to incorporate the music you want to learn in lessons as much as possible. Most importantly I teach you how to practice so that you get the most out of your guitar when you're not in your lesson.  I have 2 ebooks on online called “Guitar Mechanics I and II”. The books compliment lessons so our time is spent showing you how to play and with us playing together. The books have tab with rhythm, chord/scale diagrams and a written description of each topic. They also show you how music fits together and give you a solid foundation to build on with musical concepts you can use.

About

I teach music lessons in a style that combines classical learning of reading music plus a Suzuki type style of learning by ear, and a strong emphasis -- even at an early age -- in jamming and composing your own music. I've been teaching this method for over 40 years. I also tutor math. My favorite math to teach is algebra. I teach up to calculus, but not including calculus. Music lessons and/or math lessons are available to students of all ages, children and adults. I'm developing a website and hope to soon teach via Skype and receive pay via PayPal, but that is not complete yet. So, as of right now, you would need to come to my home. I live in the Morningside/Virginia Heights area or, we could meet at a restaurant and sit at a table (math). The easiest way to connect with me is to text. I am constantly checking my texts. My emails, I check twice a day. Call me anytime, 24/7; it won't wake me up if I am sleeping, and I tend to get up around 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. daily.

My name is Patrick Serra, and I have been an avid musician for 10 years now. I play a wide range of fretted instruments, from guitar to the Irish bouzouki. I also build and repair musical instruments. To see my work, visit my website.

About

I work with students' individual interests and strengths to create an exciting learning track, combining their favorite songs with music theory lessons so that they understand what makes their favorite music tick, in the hope that they too will grow to be creators of music many will love. My goal is always to teach my students well enough that they'll grow self-sufficient in their pursuit of musical knowledge and give them the right tools to apprehend and take charge of each challenge on the way.
