FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My sessions are different than the traditional once-a-week "chat" with a therapist. Rather, they form a monthly package that's presented in 4-week blocks, consisting of two 60 minute sessions per week as needed. It's not unusual for clients to work with me for several months in order to see the increase in peace and happiness they're looking for. My standard price for this "best value" package is $500 per month.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially, I like to learn as much as I can about the client's personal circumstances and challenges and who is involved in the client's relationships. I outline how relationships are supposed to work in accordance with our basic needs and why relationships go bad. The client is then able to see why previous strategies haven't worked. It's a bit like explaining to a trainee car mechanic first how an engine works and why things need repairing, before focusing on how to repair the defective parts. This approach is applicable to a variety of scenarios, including addictions, marital and pre-marital relationships, excessive anger, life crises such as divorce, job loss, or death of a loved one.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Personal training and certification by Dr. Greg Baer, MD, in his highly acclaimed "Real Love" approach have taught me how to help clients have happier and more peaceful relationships, and eliminate anger, rather than just manage it, for example. In addition, most relationship problems are made worse by unhelpful and unproductive language that often only serves to prolong the anger and ill-feelings. My college-level work in language and rhetoric coupled with lots of experience in conducting role plays, have proven invaluable in helping clients get the language right and feel comfortable doing so via the role plays.
