- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started as an inspector for a vacation rental company. I didn't like going behind all of the housekeepers and having to "pick apart" their work on an inspection form, but I did learn a lot about what is considered a proper clean, and things that are commonly missed. I knew I could be great at cleaning so I decided to dive in.
- What types of customers have you worked with?The most common types of jobs I complete would be considered a regular clean, which I recommend being completed on a weekly or biweekly basis for private clients. Whether a private client or a vacation rental, these cleans would include: Dusting- fans (within reach), door frames, photo frames, electronics, blinds, window sills and lock ledges, furniture, and baseboards. Glass- mirrors, windows (inside), doors (inside and out). Bathrooms- mirrors, counter tops, sinks, polish fixtures, wipe outside of cabinets, toilets, bathtubs and showers. Kitchen- refrigerator, oven and microwave (inside and out), countertops and countertop appliances, sinks, polish fixtures, wipe outside of cabinets, stove, load dishwasher (if applicable). Floors- vacuum and mop. Other- changing bed linens, outside of laundry appliances, patio furniture (if applicable).
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?I was asked to deep clean two rental suites for a property manager I had cleaned another property for. It took me about 7 hours between the two suites and the property manager was ecstatic.
