I have worked with Chef Sarah in many capacities and for a number of years. In a word, she is brilliant! I have seen her shopping, prepping, cooking, plating and serving and her creativity is beyond anything I have experienced in my decades of eating at fine restaurants. While Sarah and I work together offering plant-based healthy lunches, she is well-versed in all foods, and can present to her clients exactly what they like to eat. I highly recommend her to my nutritional clients.
Overall, absolutely excellent. Staff was on time, friendly, courteous and accommodating. Food was delicious, better than most steak houses. We had them cater our wedding (party of 28) and food was prepared on time and plated beautifully. Dishes served were coconut shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, chicken satay, bacon wrapped filet mignon, chicken marsala and a caprese salad. From both booking to them cleaning up at the end, professional. Definite thumbs up!
Autumn is AWESOME!! She is cooking meals for my son who is a student at SCAD and suffers with food allergies. So far he LOVES her meals and is finally motivated to stay on a strict elimination diet.
We hired Chef Val for my husband's birthday, to create an exquisite meal while teaching my husband, who loves to cook, some techniques. Chef Val gave us a variety of menu options ahead of time, and we chose the Italian menu, although I know he has an ecclectic and varied background in many other types of cuisine. While preparing the meal, Chef Val demonstrated proper knife handling skills, how to use a blow torch to carmelize sugar on the creme brulee, how to combine flavors for a magnificent main course, and much more...I was drinking wine and not paying TOO close attention, but years later, my husband still uses the techniques Chef Val taught him, and mentions him frequently. Even my teenaged son and daughter learned a great deal--my son especially enjoyed using the blowtorch on the whipped cream that was part of the sauce for the linguini. We invited friends over, and we had SUCH a memorable evening, as well as a delicious meal. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and learned a lot--and getting to know Chef Val better was a bonus! I wish I had better photos of the finished meal, but I must have been too busy eating to stop and photograph the food!! I highly recommend Chef Val's services--both as a chef and as a teacher.
