Our handyman chosen for the project was very nice and appeared to understand our project, however there was much miscommunication. I think it is important that the company send a quote estimate with written description prior to the start of work so both the customer and person doing the work are on the same page. Also, we were initially were told the work could be completed Fri/Sat, then it changed to Sat/Sun then Sat/Mon. We had a simple shower project to be completed and were under the impression that our handyman understood our expectations of all to be completed except painting of the area. We were told the project would take 12-14 hours. I have this confirmed in a message, but when we received the estimate on day 2/final day of work the quote showed 15 hours and a trip fee that we were never informed about. A trip fee charged for a Home Depot pick up on the way to the house (about 2-3 miles from the house) of pre-purchases materials at will call. We discussed our disappointment of the project with our handyman and urgent need (due to selling our home) for the project to be finished. He mentioned that he would not be able to come back out the next day to finish the work and would charge additional hours. We scrambled to find someone to complete the project as we hoped so we would not spend 4+ hours trying to finish the project on our own. We were left with trying to figure out how to install our shower head and handle that he was unable to determine and the hole for it was cut too small. We had to clean up a rock mess left outside. After speaking with the main representative, Angel, I was told the CEO was not changing anything from our bill nor gave us a call to discuss the matter. Hello Courtney, We endorse and empower our clients to feel in charge and in full control of their projects from start to finish! We haven't been successful in business for over 22 years by mistreating or overcharging our clients, and we aren't going to start here. Yes, there was a definite communication gap between you and our Pretty Handy Guy. Unfortunately, our office was notified after the fact and was unable to bridge that gap quickly! Since you admitted to working in customer service yourself, you should know how to get clarification by calling the office promptly as issues arise, not after things have escalated to the point of no return. We could have taken care of things immediately. But after the fact, we are left with trying to sort this "bowl of spaghetti". Now we in fact did hear both sides of the story and determined that you gave us permission to start the projects requested with the clear expectations and understanding that you were in a hurry to get things in order for a photo shoot of your home. To address the comment, you "scrambled to find someone to complete the project as we hoped so we would not spend 4+ hours trying to finish the project on our own." That was on you. Our Pretty Handy Guy was told that he was to take certain projects up to a level of completion and you and your husband would finish them yourselves. As things got underway, he spoke with you and your husband together and separately on occasion to give you an update on the progress. Additionally, he even brought in his helper to assist in and expedite the completion of your home improvement projects working till 9 PM AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! Then you decided you wanted him to complete the projects instead AT THE LAST SECOND! He was more than willing to accommodate you since you were under pressure to meet your deadline, but had already committed to another project not knowing you would change your plans for him to finish out the projects instead. As far as the shower project, you asked him to do the shower project as a favor after he had already clocked out and was leaving that night. He assured you he and his helper would return to take care of any additional requests, but he would have to charge you for his time. BTW, yes we do charge a trip fee if we have to go to the hardware store, and rightfully so... we charge by the hour no matter what we do. But we only charge $35 for a trip fee. Certainly you weren't expecting him to spend his time and gas to pick up your materials for free? As a result of our decision after hearing both sides of the story, we explained everything on the bill stood as is.
Great company that resources professionals in your area. Quality work with reasonable pricing. They were able to meet my needs in a short matter of time. I appreciate the follow up ensuring the work was to my standard.
