Linda H. says, " Avatar was recommended by a real estate investor friend. Avatar had remodeled two of the investors houses to "Flip". I only saw the last one, and I liked what I saw. First of all, I live in a condo on Peachtree Street in Midtown that has the security of Fort Knox and enough rules to scare off any contractor! To gut the kitchen and bath, Avatar had to "hand carry" all the construction garbage (cabinets, toilet, sinks, bath tub....etc) down two flights of steps and haul it off one truck load at a time due to no place for a dumpster. After demolition, Avatar had to "hand carry" all the new material and equipment up two flights of stairs! Now, this condo is only 500 square feet, so maneuvering around to work is a challenge....and I STILL LIVED THERE! Basically, I hired a contractor and tied one hand behind their back! To replace a tub with a shower was beyond the typical job....because the tub drain had to be moved to a shower drain. That entailed having the water in the entire condo complex turned off, while Avatar bored through about 12" of concrete floor to the underground parking lot to reroute the drain. Also, the condo complex used to be an office building (built in the 50's) and the bathroom walls did not have proper support for the sheetrock needed for tile. Avatar had to install studs before they could begin. In addition to the wonderful job they did keeping the condo association happy, their work is outstanding. The tile is a huge "wow" factor and the quality of the job is outstanding. I know I increased the value of this Midtown condo more than my investment.....and I'm loving every minute of my shiny new kitchen and bath! "See more

What are the advantages of hiring a professional pool inspector?

Hiring a professional swimming pool inspector comes with a number of different benefits. It helps homebuyers and owners understand what condition the pool is in, which will help with purchasing decisions, negotiations or simply budgeting for repairs. A pool inspector can also give an accurate assessment of the pool’s mechanical and electrical processes. Perhaps most important is the ability to detect problems in their infancy, so they don’t become expensive repairs down the road.

How do I schedule a pool inspection?

To schedule a pool inspection, begin by searching for local pool inspectors on Thumbtack. When you find a pool inspector you’re interested in hiring, check their availability and choose a date and time. You can also ask the pool inspector to suggest other dates. Fill out the short survey about your pool inspection, and the inspector will get back to you to confirm the day and time of your inspection.

How do I hire a pool inspector?

To hire a pool inspector, start by searching for professional inspectors near you by entering your zip code on Thumbtack. Once you see a list of potential candidates in your area, narrow down the list by reading their customer ratings and reviews.

What do they check during a swimming pool inspection?

A pool inspector can help you address any pool repairs you may need, and they can help you understand your pool's overall condition. Often, they will start by checking for general safety factors, such as the fencing or decking around the pool. They’ll also look at the pool's surface and interior to inspect it for cracks or chipping. Other important checks happen on the pumps, filters, heaters, and other accessories in and around the pool to make sure they’re working properly.
