Description of Job: Extensive upgrade of the interior of a 55’ yacht inclusive of draperies and cornices, window covers, bedspreads, shams, headboard, pillows, door and hatch covers, and upholstery work. Extensive on-site measurements were required (nothing was ‘standard’, rectangular or square). Assistance was given on colors and fabrics. Vessel was in the water in Savannah, Georgia. Work was begun in mid-November and completed in early June. Work was ‘delayed’ as other work (engine repairs, flooring/carpeting, painting, etc.) was being done by other parties. What went well: All work was professionally done and completed timely. Wayne and Kathy complement each other in their various roles. Measurements were accurate and everything fit perfectly. When we have guests on board or just showing the boat to others on our dock, we always get compliments on how nice the interior looks. What could have been better: All the work was most satisfactory as was the working relationship with Wayne and Kathy. Can think of nothing that could have been better, in fact, we are still customers of theirs.

My husband and I used Savannah Design & Drapery for the transformation of his bachelor pad to our family home. From repainting to help with flooring selection, Savannah Design went above and beyond what we expected. A year after the bachelor pad remodel, we added several other projects, which included drapes for our dining room and the design of our son's nursery. We were pleased with Savannah Design's attention to detail and efficiency.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing system is pretty straightforward. We use the initial meeting with the client to gain perspective on the client's wants and needs and also view the space and/or windows to be considered. There is a reasonable fee for this to cover vehicle expense and travel time. If the client agrees to proceed with our decorator services, there is an hourly fee for time spent planning & implementing a course of action. Window treatment costs are based on material, hardware, fabrication, and installation metrics. Other trades, such as lighting, electrical, painting, etc, are based on time and materials necessary to complete the project.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We recently completed a drapery project for a local university in which we used a sheer material with a fairly open weave. Because of this characteristic, the material stretched during fabrication, which we had to account for in our measurements and cutting The project also called for us to install drapery track to accommodate nearly 1000 yards of material. Needless to say, it was a challenge for us, but we completed it to everyone's satisfaction.
