About this pro
Alan is a **total** pro and a house lifesaver! :-) I don't normally write take the time to write online reviews, but in this case I am because I know from past experience how hard it is to find good, trustworthy people to work with, and I feel lucky to have found Alan. I found Alan online and called him for help with repairs on my townhouse, which had been trashed by some bad renters. He showed up the same day, walked through the house with me and gave me options on all of the repairs. He was completely neutral and didn't try to push me on repairs or to spend more money than necessary. The best part is that he's good at *everything* - plumbing, electrical, carpentry - which saved me a ton of money as he was able to repair everything I needed including an electrical circuit for the dishwasher, a hole in the ceiling from a plumbing leak, leaky faucets, broken ceiling fans... and more. He even gutted our master bath (demo work & all!) and installed new tile, a sink and painted. Best of all, he's a sweet, friendly guy who's great to talk story with. Mahalo nui, Alan!Dec 28, 2010
I called Allen to get a quote on fixing my dishwasher and repairing a hole in the wall from a door handle. He was knowledgeable, gave me an estimate, and made an appointment. He showed up on-time, patched the wall, and while it dried, he fixed the the dishwasher. It had something stuck in the pump. He sanded the hole in the wall, and all I had to do was put a little touch-up paint on it. I will be calling him back whenever I need service. ShirleyAug 1, 2010
I needed several things repaired in my condo and found Allen online. From the start he was easy to work with, trustworthy, fair priced, and fixed everything beyond my expactations. I kept thinking of new things and he got right to it and even fixed things that I had had professionals try and repair with less than favorable results. I am a professional in Honolulu and own my condo. SteveJul 22, 2010
The Handyman, Alan, He came to fix my sliding window that rattled. He responded quickly to my request and fixed the problem in no time flat.. and best of all his price was less that I ever thought possible. He is a very friendly man, fun to talk with and I think it is a win win situation to hire him. Call Alan, you wont be disappointed. StephanieJul 21, 2010

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Sometimes pricing is a problem. Let's say you have a bad electrical outlet. I don't charge for "travel time", but it can take 10 minutes to troubleshoot and replace a bad outlet. In the mean time, it can take two hours to get there and back. I just try to be fair and earn a bit of a living. So, in that respect, I suppose it is complicated.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I keep up to date on solar and energy issues. We're all in this together.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I love to show off. No. Really! People are very generous and are often very complimentary when I fix something. I love the praise. It's really that simple.
