Introduction: Some photographers photograph a home in an As Is Condition with just a camera and tripod these days and charge very little. I take the time to first preview the home to determine the best time of day to shoot and if certain rooms need staging. If needed I often rearrange the furniture layout of a room to create a more inviting and spacious living area. Depending on the home I may use up to 16 lights to capture a dramatic sunset shot. Knowing that my clients depend on me to make their listing, business or product capture the buyers attention and leave a lasting impression.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$475 for seven shots using lighting. I offer at no charge a shot of the Front, Back and View which gives the agent 10 shots for the MLS listing. If the client requests 8 or more shots I charge $45 per shot. Dramatic Sunset Shots which takes from 1 hour to two hours of set up time I charge $125 if I'm shooting the night interiors as well or $225 if I'm just taking that one shot. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was renting a home that was for sale and the agent would always forget to tell them about the 100 steps it had to get to the house. I photographed the home and the stairs, sprayed glued the back of the photos and pasted them onto a gray card stock folded brochure and gave it to the agent. It was like I invited the wheel. This was before the Internet!! I also gave them a video of the home.
