Q & A
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I provide up front pricing based on a $25/hour rate (for residential clients). My minimum service fee is $75 and most PC repairs not requiring hardware replacements can be covered. If I only perform diagnostic I ask $25. My fee for travel is based on $5 per 10 miles plus time at $0.41 rate and is only charged one-way.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? After talking with the customer to know what there problem is, I usually set up an appointment for having the computer dropped off or picked up, or to provide on-site service. After diagnosing the device(s), I update the client and get approval to proceed with servicing the machine(s). If parts need to be ordered I keep customers updated, and notify them as soon as service is complete.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've worked as an electronics technician contracting for large institutions in Florida: I've been doing residential PC repair for many years; and I've also worked for the UH System in the IT department. I have a number of IT certifications and left UH as a junior in the information and computer science degree program to start my business.
