One of the most important things to look for in a property management company is a solid tenant screening process that includes a credit check, a nationwide criminal search, an eviction/foreclosure history, employment verification, and previous rental report(s). Placing the right tenants from the start helps alleviate problems like late rent payments, damage to your property, and possible future evictions. There simply is no replacement for a proper tenant screening process. Be sure the company you are considering hiring has a stringent process in place.
