Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I produce and host jazz and big band recorded music. I have done it for over 50 years, 37 years on public radio. Since WSUI AM went to an all-talk news format, I have and need to get back on the air anytime and place. I could do it from my studio and record room. All I need to do is for the station to cover the license fees for the music I play -- ASCAP and BMI. I have very inexpensive charges for my entertainment and knowledge. I have met and interviewed many of the jazz and big band giants. Swinging for you and your listeners, I'm your DJ JD, Jim Dougherty.

So what's up with you today Jim? Still in Iowa City? Doing OK with health and so forth. Are you connected with the Jazz comunity in Iowa City? Do you have any thing to do with the annual Iowa City Jazz Fest? Post an up date would you? Are you affiliated with Steve Grissmore the guitar player that I believe is a mover in Iowa City Jazz scene both with the annual Jazz fest and local gigs? We need to hear you on the air. Love your stuff, radio voice and jazz history. Super quality radio pogram it was. You have great taste in music. You use to play a lot of Cannonball and Nat Atterly music. Great, great sound those two together. Keep it gong Jim. Merry Chistmas to you 2015. It's all about the good will!

Jim is the greatest DJ for classic jazz and big band I've ever heard. His history tidbits underlying his choices and transitions put you in the time and place of the recording. I listened to him for many years on WSUI. Thanks Jim
