Overall rating 1.5/5 - would never recommend or hire again Did some decent work over many weeks but overall very questionable quality. Would have been better if I just did it all myself. I thought I didn't have the time, but I've spent more time redoing things than it would have taken to do myself. Should have fired him but wanted to give him a chance. - communication 0/5 rarely answered texts. never knew when he would show up - follow up 0/5 went AWOL with work unfinished - pride of workmanship 0/5 - speed of check cashing 5/5 ink was barely dry before it was cashed. Work seems to be an evil necessity to fund his other activities. Strange that when paid, he disappeared for most of the next week (several times) - repair drywall in bathroom 3/5 not a horrible job but patch seam was visible after repair and he touched up other walls with non matching paint forcing me to repaint the entire bathroom myself repair ceiling damage from roof leak and repair leak 2/5 not a great patch job - surface texture looks horrible and repainted it white - great except the ceiling is off white repair leaking whirlpool 4/5 leaking jet eventually fixed after 2 months, drain still lets water drain while closed replace whirlpool rotary timer 5/5 except the plate was installed crooked - easy to fix but shouldn't be necessary repair condensation damage to sky lights 3/5 decent job initially but he didn't notice that the paint didn't match until I pointed it out. sloppy paint job. I'll have to go back and scrape the windows. Repair starting to separate already paint front door on outside, stain inside 1/5 sloppy uneven paint job on outside, wrong color stain on the inside. I have to redo the entire door replace water damaged ceiling tiles in basement 5/5 good job here repair bathroom door hinges 5/5 good job here

Arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable. Pointed out a couple of other things we could/should do, but didn't pressure to do them right now, so it didn't feel like he was trying to make more money, just being helpful. I will definitely hire Martin again for future projects!
