Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: When I went looking for someone to take care of some little things I needed to have done at my home, I could not find anyone. I ended up having to do the work myself. So now I am offering these services to you. I guarantee your satisfaction by never calling a job complete until you are pleased with the results. I started this service because I love working with my hands. I enjoy repairing things around the house. When my friends needed help with projects over the years, they always called upon me because I know what to do and how to do it to produce professional results.

The Fix-It Man Greg was an amazing find. Greg did some landscaping for me along with treatments for my yard. His work is top notch and very professional. Greg was also able to teach me some things about my lawn that I never knew. I plan to continue to utilize the Fix-It Man from here on out for any project I have around the house. Here is an example of how professional and detailed Greg is. When the stone was was set originally, it was off by an inch or so but that was not good enough for Greg. He took the time to reset the walls again to the exact inch! Talk about customer service. I enjoyed how friendly and detailed Greg was. He did a Professional job for a friendly price and saved me hundreds of dollars. I've already got Greg slated for my next project next month. Thanks Mr. Fix It Man!

Greg Packnett, who is the owner of the Fix-It Man business, repaired a large hole in my basement wall on April 23, 2011 (in Waukee)  Greg was punctual, professional, and courteous.    Greg first took his time cutting out the drywall.   He also used a level to ensure the surface was square.    Greg then reinforced the hole with support; followed by applying another section (approx 3x2) of drywall.  He then applied the drywall mud and tape.   Once this was completed, he applied 2 more coats of the drywall mud (sanding the surface prior to starting).   One of Greg's greatest attribute is quality.   During the drywall repair, Greg mentioned that he works as if he was in his own house - he made certain that the repair met my expectations and asked me a number of times if everything looked ok.     In addition, Greg took the time to clean up after he completed the fix.   The end result was a very smooth surface that accurately meshes in with the entire wall.     I would hire Greg again to repair or help with other tasks in the future.      Please give Greg a call when you need something repaired or enhanced (includes lawn repair, deck cleaning, etc....) - you will not be disappointed.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As new projects come along I find it vital to increase my knowledge and improve techniques. I have done wallpapering for considerably more years than I have been in business but recently I had two novel requests for wall murals and grasscloth. Basically they are very similar to standard wallpapering but there was just enough difference that I have to study and practice techniques to insure a good outcome for the customer. The extra time spent was well worth it the projects both had delightful results.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently replaced carpeting with a laminate floor. I am particularly proud of the way the staircase turned out. Because the railing and balusters were central to the home they all had to be removed and refinished. I was able to get a great stain match and was able to change the look of the whole house.
