We had our basement drywall hung, taped, and textured in a family room, hallway and bathroom. Contractor and workers were very professional and friendly. Contractor stopped by nearly every day to check in on work and to make sure we were happy. I would definitely recommend for drywall and other services.
Dennis took care of our front steps and wall tile in our old bathroom. He did a great job, was responsive and took care of us perfectly. I really appreciate the amount of work Dennis put into our two little projects. Great job dennis!
The work that was done (so far) seems to have been done very well. While it did take a long time for SmcExteriors to come out to our place, the perceived quality of the craftsmanship and the price was well worth the wait, and the only reason (I believe) it took as long as it did to do the repair is because it was a relatively small job outside of their usual area of business, so if it were a bigger job it may have had some more urgency. But the most important thing to take away from this review is quality with price: SmcExteriors did this repair between five to ten times less than other contractors with the same care. Most contractors wanted to charge close to $500 to replace one 10ft panel of fascia. Steve was down to earth, charged a more-than-reasonable amount, and really wanted our business. If we ever need another job done, I won't hesitate to get in touch with Steve.
Cody was fantastic! They were honest and consistent about giving times when they would start and their work was great. For the final walk through they accommodated all of our requests. They were super polite and friendly and I can't wait to work with them again! The bathroom was old and we just did a resurfacing. It looks a million times better. They refinished the cabinets, changed fixtures, painted, changed out a vanity top, tiled the floor, and recaulked the bath. They were fantastic at helping us navigate unexpected hiccups and I will happily recommend them to others. The project did take a day longer but I wouldn't consider that their fault because of the hiccups of an older home! As a matter of fact I would consider it a plus because they didn't rush through and compromise on quality. Two thumbs up on their work.
He replace a bathroom fan. The work was done neatly and quickly. We are very pleased.
They painted our kitchen, one wall in our living room, two bathrooms, and master bedroom at a reasonable price. They were able to start and finish the job quickly. The painters were curtious and efficient. Everything turned out great!
Over the last fifteen years or so, Honey Do Construction has done a wide variety of work around our house: large deck, basement finishing, hardwood flooring, kitchen remodeling, and a major main level renovation and addition. Parts of that work involved tricky applications of new material into existing structures. The work has been uniformly excellent. Company owner Clayton Oleson has been sensitive to what we wanted to get done and offered productive suggestions that moved us in the right directions. He is a thoughtful, creative craftsman and a hard worker. He is up to date on the latest products. He honors his cost estimates and gets work done on time. We have been completely satisfied with all of his work.
I hired Kolton to repair a bathroom sink drain, replace the hoses on my washing machine (they were rusted on there), and check out a possible toilet leak. He arrived on time and took inventory of the parts needed. Then he got the parts, returned and worked for over six hours (past 9:00 PM) until the entire job was done. He even replaced some parts I didn't know were faulty and ran into a nightmare with the washer hoses. It turned out one of them had essentially rusted onto the spigot and he had to cut away the drywall underneath to replace part of the pipe and install a new valve. The crazy way the plumbing was originally installed made the swapout a nightmare--nothing was easy but he creatively came up with a solution and got it done withouth complaining. The final cost was higher than originally estimated, but with good reason. The quality of the work appeared to be excellent and his demeanor was pleasant. I would recommend him for your next plumbing job.
Travis has installed both wall and floor tile in two of our homes and did an excellent job. He will be doing additional work as we finalize our remodel plans on our current home. As a retired builder of custom homes I can vouch for the top quality of his work.
Blue Oak is currently working on a commercial remodel for me and they have been fantastic. They have been working very fast and stay on top of everything very well.
Michael does very high quality work. Unlike other contractors he comes to work when he says he is coming. Very pleased with my kitchen tile work. He had great ideas to make the project turn out looking better!
I had a wonderful experience working with Jay and have already recommend my friends to him. He is reliable, hardworking and very friendly. He patched and textured about 20 holes in my basement where there had previously been outlets. The patch job is flawless and my husband and I could not tell where the outlets had been. In addition to patching and texturing he and his partner, Sead painted my very large basement. The paint job was amazing, the lines are crisp and clean. The job took two evenings and one whole day. My husband and I happened to be out of town for the weekend and came home to what felt like a whole new basement. Our final bill was exactly what he had estimated it be. When he finished the job he gave us his business card and I then saw that in addition to painting, drywall and texture he also does flooring and remodeling. Im will definitely hire Jay again and have already discussed having him paint kitchen cabinets.
They did a great job on my bathroom and living room remodels. Very professional, on time and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I will definitely use them again.
I had what seemed to be a mysterious leak causing two large wet spots in front of the vanity on the wall to wall carpet in my small hall bathroom. I called a local plumbing company whose yellow trucks are seen all over town, to assess the problem and fix it. It took.two days before they were able to come out. The two "plumbers" examined the wet carpet for 45 minutes but couldn't find the source of the wetness. Oddly, they refused to pull the carpet back because they said it was not their company's policy to pick up carpet. They left charging me their fee for coming out with no suggestions or solutions to the mysterious spots. Through Thumtack, as a first time user, Dean replied immediately to my request and was able to come out the next day. With the assistance of his very competent helper, Dean immediately identified the source of the leak at the base of the toilet, saying it needed a new seal. He went over to Lowe's and purchased the parts and the job was completed in a very short time. I asked him to pick up the carpet and with an easy straight cut across the carpet at the doorway, I was able to dispose of the wet carpet so the pad can air out to avoid any further mold build up. I'll call upon Dean again to help me have tile laid down to replace the carpet. It is incredible to me that a large plumbing company in the Des Moines Area with their name suggesting high morals could not identify this very common and simple plumbing problem, leaving me, their customer, perplexed and stressed about who to turn to if a plumbing company couldn't figure solve the problem. Thanks Dean for solving what was really not such a big mystery after all-for you!
Jeff did an excellent job refurbishing the bathroom walls and installing a new faucet. He tore out the old sheetrock, cleaned up all the mess, put on new ceramic tile on all three sides of the bathtub wall and it was all done at a fair price. It looks amazing! Jeff communicated openly with his recommendations, was very professional, trustworthy in completing what he quoted and I highly commend him on his attention to detail. Though he discovered throughout the job that the house is not square, straight nor level; he had no problem making the necessary adjustments needed so it now looks like it is. He finished the job in a timely manner with no delays, and we would highly recommend him for any full remodeling or home improvement jobs. I will definitely be using Jeff in the near future for other upgrades that I plan to do.
Working with Mike Lietz was a pleasure. I hired Mike to be the general contractor for a complete basement finish in our home including the creation of a bedroom, 3/4 bath, bar and living areas. From our initial meeting to review my ideas for a the layout to framing and finishing I found Mike to be very accurate, responsive and affordable. He was great to work with me on a few ideas for changes mid-project, was transparent about pricing and worked within my budget. The team of people who worked on our home were very professional. We also had some custom ideas that Mike made a reality and made our home feel custom. We now have a basement we are proud of thanks to his work.
Adam came to help with the remodel my small bathroom and combine with laundry. He was always there early and stayed till he felt was done. He was consider of our time line and was very through. We are over the moon with the out come. PV
I highly recommend Jay for your home remodeling and make overs. Our bathroom was a total transformation of a small space and Jay was able to use his creative ideas to open the space up and make it more inviting, while keeping in mind the existing design of our home. He was attentive to what we wanted to have as a finished product and injected us with new ideas of latest and greatest designs in bathrooms all while keeping our budget in mind.
