Introduction: With a Bachelors degree in Violin Performance from McGill University, Geneviève has over 7 years of teaching experience with students of all ages- from beginner to intermediate levels of playing. In addition to teaching private violin lessons from her West Des Moines violin studio, Miss Salamone is currently a Faculty member with the Des Moines Symphony Academy, where she teaches group classes to young beginning violin students. Geneviève can also be found coaching orchestra and chamber music students at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. In the past, Miss Salamone has taught from both her private studio as well as The Montréal Academy of Music. Her flexible teaching style provides a specialized pedagogical approach that adapts the lesson to the need of the student- i.e. pace, repertoire, or method of learning. In addition to the classical genre of music, Geneviève is familiar with the teaching and playing styles of Pop, Celtic, Folk, Fiddle (Irish, Bluegrass, etc.), and basic improvisation. Miss Salamones lessons focus on creating a solid technical foundation, emphasizing music theory and music history, all the while ensuring a fun and creative learning environment! Her hope is that all of her students will be inspired by what they learn in their lessons and through using their acquired knowledge and skills can emerge as independent, confident and vibrant artists.
I find teaching a rewarding experience, I love to share my passion for music with others!
