Taking lessons with Ana was my first guitar lesson experience. She creates a very supportive and relaxed atmosphere which was helpful for me to find focus. She plays beautifully and I personally found her classical training to be of benefit. I was delightfully surprised that after only a few lessons and no previous training I was able to read and play the lessons in short order. Ana helped me to build my confidence and she was very flexible when it came to life interrupting lesson schedules. I had to put lessons on hold but I can't wait to sit down again with Ana. This girl has a passion for music and it comes through with each lesson. Thanks Ana!
I have been taking lessons from Ian for a few weeks now. He is very patient and helpful. His calm demeanor and organization makes learning easy. I highly recommend him if you are looking to learn guitar.
I am very excited to start my violin lessons with a knowledgeable, professional and kind teacher. I feel a bit like Billy Madison. I will be the oldest person in the orchestra should I choose to join lol.
Hello, and thank you for looking on Thumbtack for a private instructor! I teach piano, voice, and guitar to beginner through intermediate levels. I work with each individual and help them gain understanding and competence in what they want to do as a musician. I work with you at your own pace. I have a studio, which is not wheelchair accessible, and for those who are disabled, I will travel to you. I charge more to travel, but I charge everyone for the month in advance. At the studio, I charge $25 per half-hour lesson and $45 per hour. So for 4 weeks, that would equal $100 or $180. If there are five lessons in a month, then the price is adjusted accordingly, i.e., $125 and $225. If I am traveling to you, my prices are $35 per half hour and $55 per hour. My location is 5 minutes north of the airport and 6 minutes west of downtown Boise. The address is 355 N Orchard, upstairs in Suite 207.

I teach my students the fundamentals of guitar to start. I make sure they know how to read music, and play simple chords/riffs. After a while, I introduce more complex techniques.

We provide opportunities for multi-generational lessons for students from toddlerhood through adulthood. We teach through mutual collaboration in our individual Lessons and group Hootenannies. We inspire our students to play music in their own homes, so we invite them to play music in our cozy home studio environment instead of an isolated practice room. Our students not only learn their instrument of emphasis at their lessons, but enjoy dabbling on many other instruments during the Hootenanny sessions. Hootenannies are a group learning experience emphasizing: -"Open mic” performance time -A featured instrument demonstration -A multi-instrumental jam session -Easy chord-theory application in a common key We find our approach allows our students to become true musicians as they understand how to apply their learning with group playing and transfer their skills to other instruments. We teach the following instruments: Violin/fiddle Guitar Piano Drum set Harmonica Banjo Ukulele Mandolin Cajon Shuitar & Percussion
The lessons are for beginning to advanced guitarist. In the basic lessons, the student will learn how to apply basic musical concepts, such as rhythm, harmony and melody, to the guitar. A few subjects for intermediate study are improvisation, harmony and music theory. We also teach advanced study on application of exotic modes, transcription, musical notation, transposition and more.
Guitar lessons are offered at 20.00 per hour. I teach all aspects of music theory and fundamental skill sets for the beginner to intermediate player. Play rhythm and lead, I will teach both.
Weatherhead Music (partner with Meridian Music and Arts) is Meridian, Idaho's leading studio for instruction in guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and banjo.
I have had two students with Boise Drum Lessons for several years. Blake was able to teach my daughters keeping them engaged and learning. He gave them the tools so they could easily assimilate their skills to constantly learn on their own. Great Teacher! James
