First, let me start by saying that I am still relatively new to Thumbtack, and the professionals that seem to do business on this service.
Second, I want you to realize that I am self-aware enough to recognize that I have extremely high expectations when it comes to professional service I pay for. I've always approached any contracted work with the mentality that I could do an above-average job myself, with this type of stuff, so if I pay for a professional... with that comes the expectation of a job done exceptionally well, otherwise they are nothing more than a prosumer who's charging people to do something we could have done ourselves. So with a self-proclaimed high attention to detail, and with some strong reservations I decided that I would take a leap of faith.
Okay now that you have a little bit of an idea about where I was coming from before doing business with Maximum Resolution; let me tell you where I'm coming from now that our work has been completed.
Richard & Trent actively listened to every detail of our requested project, starting from the very first meeting/consult to the "work day" when it arrived. Each bring unique skills to the work they do, but both complement each other in the best of ways. They paid attention to every caveat of the work needing to be done, and then we actively worked through the details of the hardware that I was going to need, as well as expected costs for labor and parts.
I'm so thorough in detail, to the point it's probably annoying for most, but I never once felt like I exceeded my quota of questions; so either they are absolutely genuinely earnest in their desire to help satisfy the customer's needs, and vision for their home, or they are the absolute BEST poker players on the planet. :o) Seriously though they were so very warm, and accommodating throughout the entire project.
There was a bit of a mixup at the supplier (not their fault), which caused some delay with speaker hardware, but Trent called, and we worked through it on the fly.
So all of this long winded review, and if you are still reading, then i know you are of similar personality, and just want to do your due diligence when hiring a pro. Let me speak to the rubber hitting the road... the work... I hired them to do a job, a series of tasks that would culminate into our dream home theater, one that will have our family gathering around to spend time together for years to come! Whether its games, movies, TV, whatever we wanted it to be perfect!
Well I am incredibly happy to report that THEY NAILED IT!
Start to finish of the execution, thoughtful in placement, listening stage, symmetry, aesthetics, fit & finish, at the end of the day you may need to let Trent borrow a pencil ;o) (sorry Trent couldn't resist) but you will be glad you did, they are great guys, family men, and conduct their business with integrity, and honor that is a throwback where a handshake means more than a piece of paper, they're just good people. Give them a shot, they'll do their best! If they fall short, they'll make it right, I'm confident of that!! I wish them nothing but the very best in their future endeavors, and I really do hope that if you've read this review, you will pause for a moment, and reflect on what you look for in a professional, and what you are looking to do with your own project. I think they can help, regardless if this review helps you decide. It was a call to conscience more than a review for me. Appreciate you guys, and appreciate you putting up with me ;o)
